I'm 86 and love bitcoin and I've been here a while watching but lately my eyesight is getting worse as well as other medical problems and keeping up with bitcoin is a little hard (especially lately.. Seems nothing but memes) plus I've had a question I've always wanted to ask so thought I'd see if anyone could help an old guy out and please ELI5 I wouldn't mind all caps as it helps a bit thank you all much peace and happiness to you all :)
I'll try to be brief buy I ramble at my age sorry:
1. Why has btc halfed this last month? Been in hospital most the month and was $6500 when I went in now I'm out I've seen it fall under $3000! What happened?
2. As I've been mostly watching the prices throughout the years I've noticed that although at many times it can be very volatile it also at times can also be almost 'stable' for brief periods of time like the last few months it's been floating around the low to high 6k mark but generally moved about $300-$500 a day and I always wondered wouldn't with today's gadgets and software couldn't one setup an automated system that watched the price found patterns again like small fluctuations every day for long periods of time and then simply buy at the lowest price of the day and sell at the highest and rocked and repeat? Maybe I'm so so wrong about it and I need correcting but I understand the fees would also take a lot of the 'profits' etc but you still be left over with at least a small profit of a hundred maybe 2 hundreds a day and this is only per 1 bitcoin I'm talking about but there is also the risk factor (question 1 for example) but still I'm surprised there's not a service to do this for you automatically with a select amount you can deposit and be able to set the max to buy and when to sell etc etc.. Or am I a crazy old fool? :)
I know no one knows and no one can predict so I get this question is a little moot but what's the general thought on where bitcoins price is going? I don't have time to keep up with all that kinda stuff these days but do most think it'll fall to a set amount and stay or do most think it'll go back up and if so what are people saying it'll 'stabilise' at? Again just people opinions I know as no one really knows but what are most people/the pros saying?
Again sorry for these questions I know you must get a lot of them asked over and over but I don't have the ability to look through hundreds of posts and search the internet like I could 5 years ago

Cmon grandpa expecting a serious reply here? This board is for frog memes and fart porn only, no business and finance here. My opinion though people are realizing bitcoin is sort of useless and and bloated old coin. To be fair it was the first iteration in blockchain tech and was a cool "idea" when it started out but all the scaling problems, centralization to fix the speed, high fees, bullshit associated with mining put people off. It's just not practical and likely won't see adoption while there are better platforms out there. We will likely see a future where companies use different public distributed ledgers depending on the application. Smart money is in utility stuff like LINK. Private chains will be a thing. Bitcoin is just a meme, big bubble, but blockchains and smart contracts are just becoming usable

As for your second point, people already do this. It's called using a trading bot. It's an automated algorithm plugged into da computah that does all the sick tony hawk zoomer trade moves. They are also the reason the market is so volatile in the first place. Nothing is organic these chinese shits do thousands of trades a second.
