I'm a high school senior (18, don't ban me fags), and I got accepted into a great college in my state and I know I want to do something business/finance related but I'm not sure what. I've been checking out econ as a major pretty much all throughout high school but I really don't know exactly how I could specialize and get into a competitive job market and come out on top. Accounting might be a good choice for me, but I could always major in econ and take a few accounting classes and then take the tests to be a CPA and all. I just don't know exactly. Ideally, I'd like to work in the finance department in a big pharma company or something profitable like that. Anyone with a good idea of the current job market have advice for me? Am grill btw, I know that changes some things in the job world.

wrong board
If you're the antisocial type that frequent this board then give up on finance unless you're some math genius that can do the CFA with his eyes closed. Finance will require intense networking if you don't want to end up working some shitty analyst job for a no name firm. Good luck.
will keep this in mind. i don't like to think of myself as antisocial but i am sometimes, although i could force myself to be an extrovert.
I'm an econ major, I have my CFA level 2 done, and I am currently at 125k/ year in Tdot.
I wouldn't change a thing, except maybe get an easier degree because econ didnt help me at all for CFA
mhh show me your cute boipucci come on be a good boi
Fuck off. No girls allowed here.
SAGE
first grow some balls. you shouldnt be asking anyone anything. YOU TELL NOT ASK. first rule is POWER. second rule is POWER. third rule FORCE. have you ruined any men, if no.... better practice. thats what business is, STRENGTH. the strong win and the weak crumble into shit.
Don't do accounting. Go make real money in finance or econ. Not worth the hours you have to work and boring shit you do.

youre prolly not here anymore but how much do you think you'll make at your peak?
good to know comrade.
If you think a degree will help you earn more income, by all means earn one. Just don't go into debt doing it. Work your ass off to stockpile tuition/book money and finish as quickly as possible.
