"Oracles are the new Mining"

Lets check this article from August last year, it kinda went down the memory hole for some reason but there is some juicy information in there that has not been talked about here before:

>americanbanker.com/news/the-race-to-connect-smart-contracts-to-the-real-world
(citing the growth of its web edition.[7] AmericanBanker.com receives more than 1 million page views per month)

now the interesting part about the article is that bit here:
>"Oracles are the new miners in the blockchain world," Patrick Murck, special counsel at the New York law firm Cooley, recalls saying at a conference last year. "And I still believe that's true."

Now who is Patrick Murck you might ask.
>linkedin.com/in/patrickmurck
he is a lawyer that was really early on advocating for bitcoin and this Cooley he is working for is a really big law firm:
>en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cooley_LLP
...that is also involved in the accord project (chainlink contributes to this project):
>accordproject.org/

>"...recalls saying at a conference last year."
so I digged around and the conference they talk about is Consensus 2016 and here this is what he said:

youtu.be/FsNQEQ5VSZc?t=1943

(it starts at 32:23, Murck is the guy in the middle)

>"so everybody who missed out on mining Bitcoin, Oracles are the new miners, like oracles is the new mining, thats actually going to be one of the easiest to attain like value add services in this whole ecosystem"
>"...its a huge business opportunity"

Thanks user. I'm losing my job soon to layoff and stuff like this reminds me while I hold.

godspeed bro

Won't be over $1 EOY unless mainnet launches or we get a big bull run
$50 EOY 2019
$400 EOY 2020
That is my guess

External data = public blockchain

That's great but how do I buy rhombus then sirs????

Bump for top autism OP and very fucking interesting indeed.

Oracles will indeed be like mining in the early days. Make sure you stake your linkies early, marines!

How do you stake brother?

What about for anons like myself that are too brainlet to run a node? Would it be better to simply hold and cash out later?

People like you are the reason I FUD chainlink. You don't seem like a Chainlink kind of person.
Opt for Tron instead. It suits people like you better.

And your cringe af

You need to learn how to do it yourself, there are tutorials,or join a pool. The only existing pool right now is Linkpool, and you have to own Linkpool shares to be in the first group of people who get to stake.

Why wouldn’t you just use Linkpool or a competing service (if they ever come out)?

Don't make it easy for him. He becomes more competition once mainnet arrives.

Anyone have resources on how long I'll have to wait to stake through Linkpool if I don't own one of their shares? Staking will be the way to go probably for me, I'm in this for the long haul anyway. Thanks
