You buy contracts for bitcoin to go up or down. Put in a leverage. Depending on the leverage you use (x1, - x100) you get a liquidation price. If it goes your way you earn money. If you hit the liquidation price you lose money.
It's basically gambling. Chances of big profits, chances of big losses.
