>Highest GDP per capita in World (except for oil and tax-haven nations), even PPP adjusted >Highest average wage (except for microstates), even PPP adjusted >Low taxes, 20% income for high income earners, 10% for 'low' income earners, 7,7% VAT, 2,5% for food >direct democracy, but only for true citizens and not for 'refugees' who took a 2 question quiz for their citizenship, their decisions seem based and redpilled too >proud of their culture and actively preserving it >no homelessness unlike other high cost of living areas *cough San Francisco*, even wagies can easily make ends meet ($22 at McDonalds) so no social tensions >no crazy libtards >high gun ownership but very little crime >very few no-go-areas in the entire country, almost no crime in general >beautiful nature >NO CAPITAL GAINS TAXES unless you daytrade like crazy >you have tons of money for fun stuff like cars, travel, tech etc. because it costs the same everywhere
Disadvantages: >high cost of living, you can avoid some stuff like groceries and hairdresser's by driving to Germany or France once in a while (doesn't work from everywhere ofc), other things like housing you just have to pay, which you can because of your salary >you'll never own a house unless your grandpa owns one
US is probably better for engineers and programmers but to all fellow europoors: this is your only chance to build substantial wealth, the money stays the same if you move out again, moving there actually might be a good thing to do in your 20s
>you'll never own a house unless your grandpa owns one
What?
Julian Bailey
what a load of horseshit, im swiss btw, let me give you a rundown >Highest GDP per capita in World (except for oil and tax-haven nations), even PPP adjusted wealth which is highly concentrated in the hands of the rich. one of tthe highest income inequality nations in the oecd where everyone is middle class and a small percetage is uber, uber rich >Highest average wage (except for microstates), even PPP adjusted again, if you have industry connections. for everyone else working at normal companies and dealing with absurdly high living expenses, not so great. >low taxes meh, not so great when youre taxed in invisible ways like ridiculous high, mandatory healthcare. >direct democracy everyone is brainwashed so nothing real ever gets passed >proud of their culture and actively preserving it that one made me laugh, switzerland has the most foreigners as a percentage of any other european country. the city i live in is 50% foreigner >no homelessness wtf are you talking about, tons of homeless people, walk around at night and there are people cooking meth on street corners in Geneva >no crazy libtards they exist in every country, switzerland included >high gun ownership fine, but thats only because its given to sane people. also, its dispatched by the military but the ammunition box is kept in the barracks >very few no-go-areas true, but still >beautiful nature ok >tons of money please kys. most people are afraid of going to the dentist or even getting a haircut because most people, while not poor, dont really have a lot of money to splurge.
People in neighboring countries may be "poorer" but they have an infinitely better lifestyle. swiss live a puritan existance

I have dual US-Swiss citizenship, how can I leverage this to pay as little taxes on my crypto gains as possible
Daniel Roberts
>Everyone is brainwashed In what way?
Eli Cooper
If you're a US citizen you pay US taxes. Gotta drop that first.
A house costs like $2M in Zürich, normies can't afford that, but perhaps their (grand)parents bought their home when prices were not inflated and they just inherit it. But don't quote me on that, I'm not an expert on swiss real estate, just looked through some websites
Probably not the best place to settle down in, but probably a great way to leverage your 20s and save some money, especially when considering how important it is for compound interest. But I guess the grass is greener on the other side either way
Chase Sanders
Renounce the first before crypto takes off again, there's no reason to keep yourself tied to US tax obligations.
Liam Jones
Look at their demographics and you can see why. (
Andrew Thomas

Lincoln Wilson

This thread is good as any, so I'll jump in here to hopefully get some answers:
>probably moving to Zurich soon; should I stay in the city our out in the village and train in? >Any Swiss bros recommend one village / area near in/near Zurich over another?
>I am also curious on houses. A decent house runs over 1 million CHF. How do mortgages work there? Traditional 30 yr mortgages would be too high, do they run longer scams there?
what is this fucking meme, i bet they have like 3% albanians.
What do you do for entertainment in zuerich?
Jeremiah Sullivan
No mommy I don't want to put my cummies in the furnace. I'm all dry. It hurts mommy.
Austin Bailey
>8.4 Million people in Switzerland. >2 Million of them aren't Swiss.
Jeremiah Martin
I'm asking about Zurich. Read again.
Parker Hill
>oh god they're upper class Germans, French and Italians, so much different than the swiss lol
>our (effective) capital city has non-whites whoa stop the presses this has never happened to any other country before
Robert Perez
Holy shit again. You are either retarded or cannot understand English.
Fucking flags on biz, NOW.
Colton Adams
Before it's financialisation in the begining of the 20th century, Swiss was a country of peasant with an inferiority complex to the french.
Since they understood that hide nazi gold and hiding foreign money was profitable, they came to be one of the money laundering machine of the world. This and tax evasion for rich people.
Also it is not white only or crime free. They have africans and crime in most of their cities.
It is not an Eldorado.
Would prefer countries like New Zealand or even Hungary to have a good quality of life and low crime rate.
Honestly it's annoying that many Swiss (not all), view themselves as some sort of elite, considering only Germans or north americans as their equals.
Elijah Peterson
>considering only Germans or north americans as their equals. lol the swiss absolutely believe themselves to be superior to germans. i think it is part butthurt they are basically just middle/upper class germans without their own language or culture (all relevant swiss cities speak german and swiss culture is basically german)
Parker Sanders
Swiss give the US and Canada express paths to citizenship there.
Eli Murphy
Switzerland sounds really boring
36% of immigrants in Switzerland are from outside the EU. If I'm not wrong they actually have big African and Asian populations
Brody Campbell
It is the best country imo

the mandatory healthcare is a huge issue for students and low income folks. although education is heavily subsidized, you can accrue the equivalent of "american style" student dept just by paying healthcare (5k per year) also, AHV just adds to that (you pay a minumum even if you dont work), rent is very high, cost of living is just absurd. you may have high income, but most of it is just subtracted by existing.
two of my friends are chefs and they both have a girlfriend with an average income - guess what they can't afford children unless you take heavy sacrifices - investing is nonexistent
big investments like a car or house just double compared to abroad, probably more
being poor or low-income in switzerland is an absolute nightmare
meanwhile all the high education jobs are taken away by foreigners working here and living in their home country. This has gotten way way way worse since all companies allow online applications - most arent even considered, because they know they can pick someone cheaper and with more experience from abroad. picking a swiss just because he's swiss is frowned upon unless your company has to meet a quota

from what i heared they run longer mortgages, and often the goal is not to pay it as fast as possible, but to just say, if im dead and its not paid the bank can get it, or my children have to pay if they want it
so people pause they mortage and may pay nothing several years
Carson Ross
>all the high education jobs are taken away by foreigners working here and living in their home country ROTFL
this is the best, jesus fucking christ
Nathaniel Evans
what are you laughing about? well I guess this isnt your reality if you live in fucking Appenzell
Jason Cooper
I work in ABB and we have ZERO people from abroad, not even the operators
Ethan Wood
i refuse to believe the swiss have any economy that isn't tax evasion tbqh
Dylan Flores
>i refuse to believe the swiss have any economy that isn't tax evasion tbqh ROTFL so this is the level of Jow Forums, people talking COMPLETELY random
