Do none of those things. You're young, and the only jobs you know are ones that show up in books or films. The good jobs to have are things you have never heard of. I had never heard of my job until I was about 30
>t. user on 90k, specialist contractor in oil&gas, work around 3 months a year and shitpost the rest of the time

How much do you earn and how did you get there?

Im currently doing a gap year at a firm which is doing a crypto trading bot - and I help the devs with questions about cryptocurrency.

I make 4800 monthly (I negotiated it from 3000 up), but I live in Switerland so its not that much

You should pick a job that matches your intelligence. cop and mechanical engineer don't really belong in the same set.

if you are autist you will be rejected cop. maybe investigator though. cop pay is great though
need military flying experience to be pilot. need perfect vision, instant reaction times, and type a personality.

All of those options will make you a wage slave to a certain extent.

Best thing you can do is start a business. As a startup I would personally recommend getting a franchise because all the marketing and brand-name recognition is already done for you. All you have to do is follow their business plan they prepare for you.

Save up as much money as you can and wait for the next recession. Then I would dump everything in my savings after the market bottoms out. When it rises again you'll come out Rich As Fuck and won't have to answer to nobody

Yeah but cop is more "action" and not as boring as some other jobs

You dont need Military experience nor 20/20 eyesight to be a pilot

How can I tell when the market bottoms out though?

you would probably enjoy sucking cocks for money. you should become a stripper in a back room of a dive bar. it doesn't matter if you're attractive people will still fuck you

yes you do. look up requirements for becoming passenger pilot. thousands of hours of flying experience.
are you going to get that by renting out a cessna for 3 years while not getting paid?
now think about where you'd get paid to get flying experience, and what their requirements for piloting are

Based and redpilled, thanks

90k GBP. I took some gap years and did some shitty jobs, went to university late to study environmental science (wanted a Sci degree and that needed the lowest grades). Wasted fuck loads of money getting a worthless degree. Tried to get jobs, failed. Then trained myself up (costing a fuck load again) as an electronic engineer specialising in survey hardware (multibeam echosounders, USBL). I could have done that without the first degree, and saved myself three years and a fuck ton of cash. Negotiating up is a good skill, sounds like you're going to do well wherever you end up

Fwiw, depending on your eye problem, you can get 20/20 corrected with laser and be able to fly

how tf do you have a degree at 18

Probably a yuropoor

You can fly with glasses :)

I mixed up the terms, sorry.
I finished High School and got a "degree" stating I completed it or however you call it

swiss and I probably earn more than you even tho im 18

>cop

Things have changed a lot in the last few years, they're hiring much older than they used to, in fact the average age of the new recruits class is 30, only one guy that was 21 and one dude who's 48. The fact of the matter is that studies show that 85% of unnecessary uses of force are with patrolmen between the ages of 19-29. Not saying you won't get hired, but the old "you're young, tall and like to punch niggers" isn't going to cut it anymore. I reccomend you try to get some experience in a relative field, EMT, firefighter, CO, even military... but most departments are staying away from combat arms troops because when they feel threatened they sometimes snap and revert to combat training in the military... which is good in a school shooter situation but bad when some moron cranks a few rounds into the ceiling of a 7-11 to intimidate the cashier into giving him money and then instead of "two shots to center mass and reassess" he does suppressive fire with innocent bystanders and hides behind a column.

And yes, that literally happened in my agency, and he injured two people, luckily he didn't kill anyone but the city paid gold for that blood. He's sitting behind a desk, for who knows how long, now... he's lucky he has a job.

Ah I didnt know that, its interesting how its done differently in the US.
In Switzerland you have to be 20-30 when joining, you cannot be older/younger

Also that extra experience sounds good, I was also considering joining the "voluntary firefighters" of my town for some experience

Study machine engineering, don't become a fucking narc.

>intelligence
Police really is diversified with intelligence once you have a few years on the job, you do have to be smart to be a detective... especially homicide. But if you, big stronk an' shoot good, SWAT is perfect for you. I'm gunning for gangs detective, myself.

I take it the yuropoor comment upset you? How much do you make if you need us to help pick your career path

Sounds like your agency is full of cucks and doesnt stand behind their people 100%

redpill me on the cop life
i always thought you would do a shitload of hours for garbage pay

that was a bad joke, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have posted it

Anything high paying but considered exciting provides poor work life balance: like big law, banking, consulting, medicine and nursing

Anything fun like fashion, entertainment, modeling, music, art provides no real income

Anything with a high salary and good work life balance will be unfun, think medical biling IT

Welcome to life

In the US cops get paid very well, depending on your area, obviously. I start at $60,000 plus great benefits, it goes up to $90,000 in 5 years and with a promotion (like detective) you make over $100,000 just for 40 hours a week. There is a lot of off-duty (security for concerts, construction projects, casinos) and backlog (backlog is just handling emergency calls, and you don't have to write reports) which you can make a lot of money ($200,000 a year is not unheard of if you have no family or life), if you try. The only issue is that right now, cops are in the spotlight, and you'll be wearing a bodycam... but if you're not a fuck-up, you'll prefer it that way.

Depends if you're not a retard and can network. My friend just got into a company that shoots exclusive for Supreme, among others. They charge $100/photo, but he's talented photographer so its not for everyone

>100 -200k
Lmao what sort of larp is this

The first degree probably helped though didn't it?
I almost have a B.A. and plan to get a B.S. in Geology. The study skills I've learned will benefit me immensely.

lucky he has a job indeed... he lacks the mental stability to be a police officer... must be related to the higher ups to keep his job... should be fired.

It's not a larp you idiot... here in San Francisco the STARTING pay for a cop is $81K Well over 100K ... after 5 years...

In many places in California cops make above 6 figures.

Over 100k for 5 years on duty and promoted to detective. 200k but you have to do so much overtime you live for the agency. You know cops get paid really well, right? And that's just cash in hand, add to that all the benefits.

He may still be fired, he's in limbo right now. Civil service is dealing with him, so even if he's the chief's son-in-law, it won't help him that much.

>who brought doogie howser over here amirite?
