Not really. Smart contracts on bitcoin have been around for years ever heard of counterparty? Wanna take a look at the price chart of counterparty to see where rsk is heading?

LN transactions take 1 second.

Counterparty is still under development, and RSK has more programmability with Solidity. Also counterparty's main focus is issuing assets.

i know there's a 1% chance anyone reading this has even dim awareness of the tech, but OP made me curious enough to take a look at the RSK website/blog/github
it's a bunch of brazilians literally copypasting ETH stuff
their tutorials are barebone and tell you to use Truffle, Remix, etc., the whole thing filled with misspellings and grammar mistakes
even Tron is unironically more advanced than this

The inevitable hubbing on the LN is also cause for concern. Basically forming centralized points of failure in the network.

At the end of the day no normie wants to have to be educated to use their money. LN with its separate layer of payment and liquidity is just complicating bitcoin even more than it is--- which is going to further hinder mass adoption.

This is just the beginning. Look up Casa node making things easier for normies. Also, the consumer/normie will just use a QR code and that's it. No normie knows the backend of email or TCP/IP but that doesn't stop them from using it.
