>I'm new to the stock market, what stocks should I buy? Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks, and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.
Wheres did the /SMG/ thread maker user go? His threads were the best
Josiah Baker
this is what i was wanting to do to
not sure what you mean, right now im paying 800 a month in rent that i get nothing from. I could instead pay 1100 a month in mortgage + insurance + maintenance and get back 200-900 a month in equity, every single month, plus have a place to rent out for an entirely free $1300+ a month when rents reach that point
You're complaining because I'm a straight white male, aren't you?
Daniel Sullivan
I wanna do this during the next crash when interest rates are through the roof.
I can use my VA loan to get a loan with interest rates way below the normal
Juan Bennett
My point was that you have to assume that the property will necessarily appreciate. It's definitely not a certainty. What about natural disasters or immigrants moving in en masse around you?
Justin Morales
so yesterday was basically one big short cover and now we are back on the roller coaster straight to hell
Zachary Robinson
straight white males no longer have rights. we are all criminals that should be in jail because we were born white and decided to be straight.
If you don't buy this saggy shit for flipping in a day, how do you expect to ever make it?
Jaxson Garcia
is this the only bear market ever that hasn't been accompanied by an economic recession? the GDP is still at like 3.5% and growing I think.
this bear market should be fake and gay. DCA until its oger
Thomas Brooks
>not putting all your eggs on ETFs I'll be laughing in my mansion at you poor fucks
Gavin Ramirez
Thanks Donald ! You can stop now !
Elijah Lee
I was lucky enough to be out of the market because stock exchanges were closed in Europe. Though I don't think I would have lost that much. I like to think that I've learned to cut my losses when the market doesn't move my way.
desu last time the market went to shit first and then the recession hit. All the niggers waz saying that shit was all good and the best in 2007-2008 as well
The recession never ended. GDP is up but that doesn't mean americans can get jobs
Jeremiah Clark
You're assuming that the stocks were at fair market value when the truth is that they were pumped by free money and tax cuts. The market can be in a bear market without a recession.
Dominic Brown
you believe everything reported? I can tell you there is no real work going on in america right now. shit has been at a standstill for 9 months. consumers are piling on the debt at a record pace buying discretionary goods.
we hit lowest unemployment rates in history, so I dont think thats it
this makes sense. but any S&P stock below 15 p/e (depending on the sector) is basically on sale right now as S&P's historical average is 15-18. or is that kind of thinking retarded and I should feel bad too?
Nathan Russell
Bend the knee.
Jacob Nguyen
Rumors are the fat lady is dead and can't sing, the selling will never end.
Blake Torres
-400 everyday for the next week. Finish with a green day of +200 "Lol told you bears."
Mason Martin
lol if you think 15 is still not overbought you should check other markets. Europe at 10 and a few EMs at 5
I'm not going to act like I know shit. I only trade swings. So take this with a pound of salt. But usually the market overbuys and oversells. It never just stops at fair market value because nobody knows where that is and because momentum and sentiment play a role. Concerning the P/E you have to consider that earnings are expected to fall. So the P/E can get worse again even if the stock prices don't go up.
Jose Foster
Check out F p/e If they survive the next recession, it'd be an amazing buy
>comparing the US to yuropoors you're better than this user
Kayden Carter
Unemployment =/= labor force participation which shat the bed under Obama and which Trump has only held steady
Lucas James
Wait what if the 24th was actually the second bunny ear on the VIX from October, and we're actually at the start of a new golden bull run that's going to last 30 years?
Wyatt Garcia
You think rumors will save us from the popping of a QE bubble? Face it the end is nigh! You should be investing in canned food, land, and guns!
is the right time to buy houses at a stock market bottom is that what yoru saying? I've never bought so I will have a HFA loan available to me.
I can also get 3 bed houses in all white areas for well under 200k right now, like 160k without a problem, and i make 40k a year, so i was thinking of buying to start accumulating equity and eventually have a rentable property to build free equity in in the future
Owen Jackson
>Dollar-cost-averaging works great in an uptrend, but it can damage your account if used in a downtrend or bear market. When the market changes direction, as it has lately, you must adjust to it. The strategies that brought you profits in an uptrend are not going to work well in a downtrend.
Is this true?
Wyatt Anderson
I am waiting for really gay call spread to expire tomorrow for +25%, nothing to do until tomorrow.
Waiting on bank wire for today's buy out of boredom. send help
I'm done with stocks for now, being unemployed ups the panic too much Gonna move my shit to a 1yr 2.75% cd or something and ask them to just cash the interest out to my checking or something if possible. 125$/mo for free is better than riding this turmoil.
how long does your bank transfer's take? Ally allows for uncleared deposits to be invested so it only takes 30 mins to request a money transfer and lock in a trade. pretty based
Jonathan Martinez
my bank won't send their wires for the day until mid-day local time, Chase private client meme. At least they're free wires.
Kevin Carter
that's a breakout straight downward pattern.
Christopher Cooper
no that is not true. DCA works both ways, up and down. The purpose of DCA is to limit emotions and accumulate shares at different prices to mitigate risk. compared to meme lines, its more of a law than a theory
Josiah Sanders
>TA on the 1 min chart I'm short on AMD right now but really, bro?
Lincoln Brooks
ryzen 3000 announcement, discount calls for me
1 min candles are useful to predict a larger trend, look for gap ups/downs. You think real-time data is useless? fine with me.
Lucas Cox
reminder that TVIX goes up when the market is more volatile, not when the market is going down
William Allen
I did, another shiny rocks batch is otw to me next week
I like this song. Also my go-to whenever someone asks for a song in 5/4 time.
Hudson Wright
thats a nice dividend, but theyve been trending downard for the last 5 years
Carson Cox
No, I just think that if the PPT or anybody else decides to fuck you in the ass like yesterday your 1 min chart won't account for shit. I'm still short on AMD because the 1 day chart is bearish and because the broader market is going down.
Thomas Scott
Where are all you smug as fuck bullfaggots now? Where the fuck are you? (((golden bull))) LMAO! How fucking cucked are you? You bought the dip? LOL
yet all of you faggots laughed at me when I said it was going to go down again tomorrow, fuck you bullcucks, Bearfags win again!
Grayson Thomas
you're short, like weekly puts amirite?
Jonathan Martin
Yeah. Though in the last weeks I usually closed my puts every day because of the high volatility.
Juan Anderson
You sound like a child who just learned what bear and bull mean.
News flash, kiddo: markets are up and down everyday. Most investors buy and hold. If you can't stomach a 5% dip, gtfo of the market
The market is actually higher now than it was 30 seconds ago... Bears about to jump out the window.
Nicholas Watson
Robinhood allows instant trading even if the bank wont clear for 1-3 days or whatever is typical. although it might take a few to actually clear before they trust that it will consistently clear, i dont remember
Aiden Sanchez
We're reaching tripfag critical mass. A culling is needed.
Austin Hill
So are we officially in recession territory yet?
Zachary Gutierrez
>30 seconds woah really makes you think
Colton Rodriguez
Tripfag short squeeze occuring. People shorting Tripfags on suicide watch.
Jayden Williams
ok boys. Currently hodling about a quater of a million in stocks. I have about 30 grand to invest. Should I wait for the bottom then just dump it in or should I spend it on bonds?
Jackson James
A recession is a contracting economy. It doesn't have anything to do with the stock market.
Isaiah Miller
acquiring undervalued companies being brought down by the overall market. I'll continue to do so regardless of how the market performs over the next 10 years and then retire early while you're still averaging minimum wage attempting to be a trader
Juan Bailey
>This could be the beginning of an epic bullrun... Kek... Silly bulls
Tripfags should be put into arenas where they fight to the death. The winner retains the right to have a name. It could be made into a "pay to view" event to help stimulate the rapidly collapsing markets.
Carter Mitchell
what do you think is undervalued currently
i just keep buying index funds twice a month cuz i know its guaranteed returns and i make enough money i will make it to retirement that way
individual blue chippers looking for moon shots might be better returns but the guaranteed of SPY and QQQ is too great to skip out on
Kevin Ross
> not buying the bottom > buying bonds ever
Not gonna make it frens
Owen Jones
spend $2000 per month on stocks for the next 15 months is probably the safest way to put that money in the market.
you could always go the bond route but you'll miss the upswing when it happens
Is the general population, dare I say it, retarded? >Green? Buy! >Red???? Oh no, sell it!! >It was green yesterday so I held it today!
Ethan Johnson
>1000 point record breaking rally yesterday >small -1.5% correction today and the bear cucks are out of the wood work again. You guys are just pathetic, take a look at world economy and you will see we are doing great. Stop listening to basement youtubers like Peter Schiff that have been derping about doom for a decade and listen to the real professionals at news stations like cnbc
Ian Turner
In a bubble (which current market is) it's a zero sum game , how can minority win if majority won't lose ?
