I'm on coinbase and after I tried to buy ethereum it gave me an error stating that it might be my bank disallowing this transaction to take place. What do I do? Do I just call the bank and will they even let me buy crypto? I read that one guy had his bank "monitoring him" now. Do all banks do this?

ACH, automated clearing house, is a type of transaction drawn on your banks routing number and account number as found on a cheque.
Plaid integration runs the credit card/debit card processing, and coinbase cannot help you if your bank won't play. Plaid does this check of funds before running the transaction that not all banks play well with.

If you tried to purchase with a Visa debit card then just call Visa and verify that you made the transaction.
This happened to me first time I used my debit. Alls it takes us the call to Visa. Which is worth it seeing as buying with Visa allows you to instantly remove your purchase off the exchange instead of waiting 11 FUCKING DAYS for the bank transfer.
