Hang in there /smg/ edition! Know most of you are down 30% but 2019 is a better year! Serious, fudge 2018
>I'm new to the stock market, what stocks should I buy? Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks, Ratsu is stupid, and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.
cryptofag here. is stock market similar to crypto?
e.g. prices are all bs, partnerships a meme, fundamentals dont matter - only hype does??
Dominic Rodriguez
The only thing that matters is the price mechanism itself
Ian Baker
it's all the same bullshit when you play with paper money you need to realize how pointless it is you think the richest people in the world work for paper money? shit is depressing when I think about that is why I don't even think twice when I buy 100k shares of a penny stock and to be honest, those types of risks I've taken due to zero fear on my end has made me a "rich" man. sigh...it's all meaningless
Charles Hill
Discord could be nice, but I fear it would kill the thread. We're not as big as Syria General to have a discord, website, etc.
It should be a fucking bannable offence to post discord links.
Jeremiah Sanders
what do i need to look for to find a good penny stock?
where do you look to find the good up and comers? any particular websites? what about characteristics that you look for?
Nathan Evans
I disagree I think a discord would do very well. not only would you get traffic from the regulars here but also get a few of these memecoiners to drop by as well. Jow Forums is already a low traffic board in the broad scheme of things but I feel more and more people are starting to "invest" and you get random people from other boards checking Jow Forums out lately For example I came here from Jow Forums and LET ME TELL hahaha, this place is like a little gem compared to that cesspit. ughhh 24/7 Trump generals, cuck threads, and endless pizzagate spamming lol. I literally have no reason to go back there...
Ayden Robinson
what the fuck does this even mean. fuck off pseud
Jaxon Jenkins
no, nobody is making a fucking discord stop mentioning it, no regulars here will use it
Noah Harris
Here's what I do and you can laugh at me all you want but this is what I do personally. I go to stocktwits and scroll down until my finger bleeds just to understand the overall sentiment of a stock and SOMETIMES read news if there is any but that is rare
Discord is cancer, whether it kills the thread or not.
Camden Butler
>e.g. prices are all bs, partnerships a meme, fundamentals dont matter - only hype does??
Depends on what you're trying to trade. If you like small-medium cap speculative growth stuff like the dude weed, biopharma, etc, then yeah it behaves much the same as crypto. Monster blue chip companies are more stable unless the broader markets are losing their shit like right now. Usually when trading blue chips, active traders will use leverage or trade the stock with options rather than the common shares.

>how did FNGU work out for you, fagboi Very good. My last fngu trade failed, but I sold all leveraged positions after that second spike in November.
The real thing that hurt me was Consumer Non Cyclicals Food stocks.
Gabriel Ward
is value investing in stocks a lot easier? Like you can just look at projected earnings and history of the company and make a good decision that will work 90% of the time?
for example, in crypto it's near impossible since you have to factor in how much hype is going to be generated, social media activity, as well as the underlying tech etc. etc.
Ian Richardson
What consumer non cyclical food stocks did you invest in? Campbells? Should have gone with retailers and restaurants.
Xavier Rodriguez
dude quit being a pussy and blindly trade biopharma like the rest of us fucking faggot ass questions..
Anthony James
>Like you can just look at projected earnings and history of the company and make a good decision that will work 90% of the time? 'no'
Jonathan Taylor
I invested in weed stocks today, are baby maker harems in my future?
Easton Gutierrez
>is value investing in stocks a lot easier?
Yes, there's a whole other side to stocks where the strategy is as much about stability and maximizing dividend yield as it is about whether the share price moves up much while you're holding the position.
This is boring though. And it's where the 'stocks only give 10% returns per year' meme comes from. Now, you can make more than that even with a long hodl + dividend strategy but there is some truth to the meme. In my opinion, this strategy is best used by people with large amounts of capital who want growth with limited risk, or people who aren't willing to learn how to trade and just want a set and forget for a few years option.
of course I picked winners too but these have been raped sir. The reason is the future is heading towards less children and more pets. General mills and SJM know this and have taken on debt to acquire as such, so the price is undervalued
Angel Clark
>aurora TA wise ACB looks okay right now. Be very careful around earnings report time though. I am concerned the Canadian LPs will not have good numbers to report for their first quarter of legal sales due to supply issues and botched retail rollout by the gov.
>kushco Rangey. Take profit at 6 bucks.
>IIPR Good. Nice chart.
>SMG This is a possible knife catch as it hasn't reversed yet. Don't hodl through a break below $58
>MRMD yolo?

Ill yolo you up if you dar cross me in the streets bruv

I'm thinking about hopping in on STZ. They got hammered so bad in the market crash and are still oversold on daily and weekly.
Btw the fact you didnt completely tear me apart means i did well
Aiden Campbell
IIPR is new to me and I like what I'm reading about it here in addition to the chart. Adding to watchlist.
Jason Harris
Look at it logcially, there is no path to victory for the right-wing. They cannot violently rebel, they cannot vote themselves out of their situation, they cannot coup the government.
Kayden Moore
You can say that for any group that opposes the Techno-Industrial System. But there's also no such thing as lasting peace or hegemony.
Juan Taylor
STZ is a great buy here for a short term trade. same with lots of bank stocks or rather they were this morning. next months candle should be Golden Bullish for most
Yeah but modern communists share goals with neoliberals, such as the need to put fags in every aspect of life, so they often get a pass and are overlooked, unkess they directly attack the financial system.
I may appreciate that neoliberals were useful idiots in industrializing the third world, but I don't share any goals with them. Culture is an oppressive force on the individual whether its permissive to homosexuality or not, as that's its very nature. We must all live our lives in defiance of something at some point, as the concrete comes into conflict with the abstract. Some people resolve to change the customs they find intolerable, that too is natural, as it's natural for customs to change and evolve. It is, however, foolish to find meaning in those changes. The fantasies we act out in culture are just that, fantasies.
Noah Howard
>so huge volume start to the day wednesday?
Pretty likely. That's the usual case in first week of Jan.
Kevin Foster
Well, at least you confirmed my theory that the useful idiots view neoliberals as useful idiots.
Samuel White
Yes IiPR chart is nice, long weed stocks, aurora, kush, smg, iirp, mrmd all worth looking at
Adrian Perry
Consider this on the neoliberals own terms, then. If it hadn't been for the opening up of financial markets in the 80s and 90s there wouldn't have been the flood of FDI into places like Vietnam and China. China in particular lifted literally near a billion people out of poverty because it's strong central government and industrial policy. It also made China into the 2nd largest economy and a much more real rival to the US on the world stage, all while rejecting the spread of liberalism.
Tell me then, appraising the situation as a neolib, does that sound like the outcome they would have been hoping for?
It makes me happy because now there's more industry there, less poverty and it looks like liberal hegemony and the US empire may be grinding to a halt, even if I'm not a fan of the existing CCP.
Jason Long
Well, good, then. Liberalism in every shade has done nothing but make human beings miserable since its inception. Chinks enjoy life more despite living in comparative deprivation. I'd argue that liberal capitalism has destroyed culture more than communism has. Look at post-Communist Eastern Europe, Russia, China and Central Asia in how they live as compared to Western Europe and the Americas.
I disagree with the idea that culture is an oppressive force. It'll develop wherever humans are, no matter how small or minor it is. The enemy in general is the system that's in decline.
Connor Gutierrez
The morons have won.
Nathaniel Gomez
Well I was kind of getting at the fact that while culture is an oppressive force, it's also inevitably oppressive. Culture is transhistorical in the same way ideology is. But we simply have to live in defiance of our culture sometimes, if we want to live our lives.
Thomas Bennett
I just wish the fags would go away. Guess I might as well kill myself.
Thomas Perry
Well there we go. 2018 over. Shit year. I'm going to bed.
Sorry, I'm not a fag that wants other people to give their shit to me, so I can't relate.
Hunter Nelson
2018 was a shitty year, portfolio went down 20% thanks to my massive stack in Faceberg.
HODL (and hedge with SQQQ)
Brayden Butler
You're going to lose your investments if you don't go for the 10% meme desu.
Noah Howard
TQQQ now pays dividend too.
Nolan Davis
I don't get why 10% is so hard to get for people, think about it. Any given stock on any given has a high-low difference of at least 2% or more of that stock's open/close. That gap is plenty of opportunity to make 1% or 0.5% or even 0.25% a day. Just don't be a greedy idiot and let compound gains do it's work.
In that case just buy some leveraged papers and become a millionaire

I’d rather we followed the lunar cycle too so i could have a better understanding of when to approach women during mensuration cycles. Would also save employers billions.

I'm thinking GE for the huge potential bounce-back or AMD for the good quarterly report they are likely to have at the end of the month.
I'm a newfag at this stock game. amidoingitrite?
Leo Watson
I unironically shorted the bottom. But somehow i still feel nothing, and it is not "adamantium fists" or anything, i just have a feeling of extreme resolution. I was 100+ % up from forseeing the rape hike, and i only have half of my money in this short, but still i think i should atleast feel something. because of my steel balls im about to lose everything i earned beacuse of my steel balls. ironic
You are not 'too patient'. You just don't have the capital to see it through or sustain a short for multiple quarters, let alone months.
Hunter Rodriguez
You're a desensitized gambler that got lucky once. Don't flatter yourself.
Parker Barnes
you aren't supposed to hold bets you make on broader market conditions long term, that's for companies or ETFs that you think will fare well in the long term
Jordan Price
fabric softener is fucking useless and a waste of money how do I short fabric softener
Joseph Richardson
Probably short P&G or J&J or Dow or something.
Brayden Perry
I don't want to short Proctor and Gamble, they make a ton of consumer staples Shorting DOW sounds like a good idea, we are due for a economic collapse soon, after all Jow Forums told me so
>after all >Jow Forums told me so They would never lie.
Connor Robinson
oh for sure 100% my man Jow Forums has never once lost money people have been posting way too many bear memes for there not to be a recession coming soon
