I dont know but if you cant watch 30min youtube video on how to create an offline bootable system and generate your wallets and securing them you will probably loose your holdings anyway so no there is not "less tech option" to secure your linkies...

myetherwallet is a UI you retard, the only "hack" that can possibly happen is someone redirecting the site when you go on it. God what sort of tards do we have in the crypto space now?
just read through the myetherwallet setup, if you're smart enough to figure out how to buy with fiat then you're smart enough to set up a MEW, if you can't afford a ledger then use the pw protected private key option (it's the keystore/json file option, basically just store your private key on a flash drive then every time you want to interface with MEW you open the file from your flash drive and enter your password that you set it up with)
