how scammy is skycoin? 100 premined but is there any merit to the coin?
SKYCOIN LOW DOWN

It was 100% premined? S*y is becoming a caricature of a scam at this point.
Wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole, wouldn't even consider it unless the bare necessity is implemented in a satisfactory manner. The consensus Algorithm.
Personally, wouldn't touch it even if it was implemented. To many scam/incompetence checkpoints ticked off.
>premined
The coin has no block reward. The whole reason for this is because you end up with mining pools that do scammy shit like with Bitcoin and bcash and the sv hashwar
Creg Sanjy stumbled upon poopcoin back in 2008 in Mumbay. These poos the Vishnu needs to poo to survive. Once fully pooed, Creg Vishny will invent Bitcoin.
100% scam, Any coin that is premined is simply only backed by marketing in hopes a company is dumb enough to buy as many as their shitcoins. Bitcoin and ETH are the only coins that will last.
the team gets to decide how to distribute the coins do they not?
read the whitepaper.
of course it's a gigantic shitcoin.
If the team were irresponsible in distributing the coins 100% of them would be distributed already and in the hands of whales who control the market. only 12 million coins are circulating so far, but once 25 million are circulating, no more than 5 mil per year can be released because there is a time lock constraint on the wallet that contains locked coins.
which one they have fucking 10
the one that promises an entirely new isp-less internet through a network of private antennas with 15km range
Complete bullshit. I am a RF engineer.
That doesn't make any sense user. The plan is obviously to work towards disintermediating the isp by using the antennas to set up mesh networks and people renting colocation space to access bandwidth from backhaul providers. Some locations the full infrastructure are owned by ISPs, but the situation is different in different parts of the world.
It's a really weird scam. They have genuinely been around since like 2013, riding every pump, and have managed to survive despite producing essentially nothing meaningful in all that time.
The hardware trinkets are partmof the scam of course, but there is no real network.
If you're an aspiring scammer Synth should be your idol.
This is fucking stupid. Scams are best conducted only during the bull market, and you focus on hype and exit asap in order to start all over again.
Besides, Skycoin's dl network has been up and running for over 3 and a half years, longer than Ethereum. They just started releasing the CX programming language, which is the only blockchain language other than Solidity and offers improvements over that. Hardware nodes are active all over the world now to support the release of mainnet which is coming in q1.
Don't get cute you fucking shill.
Where is the consensus algo?
CX is just Go with blockchain functions, so not sure how it will work at all for a decentralized system. Solidity is tailor made to tackle problems with smart contracts - the deterministic nature of distributed, verifiable computation to be exact.
>Don't get cute you fucking shill.
Displaying how irritated you get at my argument tells more about you than it does about me.
The consensus algo is still on it's way. Sounds like it's getting released alongside Skywire mainnet though. At least it isnt just a fork of existing broken consensus algos like POW and POS. By the way. Distributed ledgers don't explicitly require a decentralized consensus algorithm to function. You can alter the consensus algo on Bitcoin, for instance, when they forked Bitcoin and used POS instead of POW to create Peercoin. Peercoin was the first coin to use POS but they initially had a centralized system of checkpoints to protect against reorgs.
It shows how hopelessly annoying s*y shills are. They are completely shameless.
>fud is bullish for skycoin
>anons calling out shills is bullish for skycoin
>not having a consensus algo is bullish for skycoin
Your piece of shit scamcoin will never EVER have a working consensus algo because that would require actual innovation and actual skill (something that taping together a bunch of raspbi pi boards doesn't).
I'm not saying maybe
I'm not saying eventually
Never, fucking, ever.
>blockchain functions
If CX was just Go with your "blockchain functions", it would be Go because a programming language is used to create functions, we don't change the name of the language everytime a new function is created.
Solidity needed to be created along with the EVM because they needed something totally open source and they needed deterministic compilation, also other programming languages provide too many extra capabilities that compromise security. It is always possible to write secure smartcontracts and shit with any language, but you can't expect a whole world full of money grubbing hack coders to create responsible code.
CX provides the same security features that Solidity does but in a different way. CX relies on affordances to limit what functions can do, strict typing, and deterministic compilation. Affordances make it very clear what the the limits are for what the code can do, helping you analyse it for potential exploits.
>they needed deterministic compilation
All compilation is deterministic, unless you do some c++ template magic. Confirmed for talking out of your ass.
Its only deterministic if you compile it on the same machine with the same conditions. When you start trying to do distributed computing with different machines and stuff it gets alot more complicated. Which is why Ethereum went out of its way to create solidity and evm. Skycoin is going out of it's way to make CX. Other projects think they can get away with whatever. Good luck to them.
You seem to confuse compilation with computation. A very basic mistake.
>awaiting sophistry on how compilation is computation
We are using the generally accepted and non-academic usages of those terms.
Tik tok
I'm just saying that if you want to call Skycoin a scam on this basis, you also have to call Ethereum a scam on the same basis.
literally retarded
>taping together a bunch of raspbi pi boards
boards are bolted in, not taped. Some people might use tape for cable management on their diy skyminer.
>fud is not bullish for Skycoin
It is, when it's this fucking stupid.
>it's a scam because it's a scam
>you suck and are stupid
Literally, the essence of your arguments.
Skycoin has consistantly been listed on cryptocurrency info sites as one of the top projects by developer activity all last year, although those results are somewhat misleading because they tend to focus on only the main repo. Skywire, CX, CXO, and the Obelisk consensus algorithm have been under heavy development and are scheduled to be released in Q1 of 2019.
As you have seen in this thread, attacks on Skycoin focus on these elements not being yet implemented. These arguments are chosen because the reality of the dying crypto market is pure hype and vaporware. It is, in other words, projection.
Nah, it's backed by network activity.
They're timelocked over the next 20 years. The team uses them to build network adoption.
Doubtful. Otherwise you'd know that 100km from a good position is easy.
I aspire to scam people in to hosting their own networking and leading them in to free speech and privacy. Looks like we're on the right track.
In testing until they can find a way to keep people from copying it.
Nah, it's soon. I've seen it.
S*k supporters don't respond to criticism items with anything else but word twisting. Absolutely shameless.
>boards are bolted in, not taped
wow amazing technology. I stand corrected a tip of the hat to you sir.
>Skycoin has consistantly been listed on cryptocurrency info sites as one of the top projects
Give a fuck about those fucking scam shitblogs
>I aspire to scam people in to hosting their own networking
There is no network. You have to email the devs with pictures of your scaminer and then they send you coins if they like how it looks.
>Give a fuck about those fucking scam shitblogs
why should people give a fuck what user has to say about it though? Are you another engineer larp?
>shameless
shameless projection.
>word twisting
Look at yourself. You literally pretend that words mean something else entirely to try and sell your lies.
>projecting projection
S*y supporter tendency to project is well documented even in this thread. They, as always, are fond of making unsubstantiated grandiose claims. Like all cornered animals
yeah premined sucks. thats why I only buy erc pajeet tokens like link
>S*y supporter tendency to project is well documented even in this thread. They, as always, are fond of making unsubstantiated grandiose claims. Like all cornered animals
Saying a whole lot of nothing. Projection is where you make claims about another. Well documented in this thread are questions and answers, mixed in with vicious accusations against the Skycoin project and it's community.
So you are twisting words again. And you hope that anons don't read through this whole thread to verify your claims about what tendencies have been documented.
Good point.
All the Ethereum token contracts have pre-issued supplies unless they are some pretend-mining gimmick token. But with these, we have seen instances where additional tokens are issued by exercise of centralized control over the "decentralized smartcontract" Smartcontracts being violated.
Skycoin contains no such function. Coins may only be created with a genesis block, and by creating a genesis block, you end up with an entirely new blockchain that is treated as such.
>Saying a whole lot of nothing
next sentence
>Well documented in this thread are questions and answers
Projection masterclass
>Coins may only be created with a genesis block, and by creating a genesis block, you end up with an entirely new blockchain that is treated as such.
We'll have to believe the devs about that, as there is no consensus algo. They don't have a good track record unfortunately.
>We'll have to believe the devs about that
No, please don't check the code and see for yourself.
>github.com
bump
What are you bumping this garbage thread for you fucking pageet shill?
bump
No consensus
is that John Mcafee?
Skycoin ! Bestcoin. 0.
>No consensus
A monotonous two word mantra. Consensus of course does exist, because consensus is established by the consent of participants, not systems. And all who are not brainlets understand this. The sanctity of Skycoin's protocol is guarded by a centralized set of masternodes at the moment, but that is only because Skycoin's revolutionary new decentralized consensus algorithm is an achievement worth waiting for. It is natural for you to fear this because it threatens to make all your shitcoins obsolete. Those who are capable of recognizing opportunity will see that the Skycoin ecosystem is a fertile one and flock to rebuild upon it.
Oh I guess btc had no consensus algo either before people started mining? It just fucking coalesced out of thin air when satoshi booted up his macbook?
Fucking brainlets
>Fucking brainlets
BTC is not a comparison because there was only a small group of enthusiasts involved at the beginning. POS is a better comparison. Peercoin was the first coin to use POS but it relied on centralized checkpoints to prevent a reorg. If you had read through this thread you would have known this because I already posted this information.
>word salad
Skyschizos, dishing out empty verbiage, as always.
Let's just say I'm about to buy more.
8.
BTC is admirable, but a rat race in retrospect.
Skycoin's most important component is Skywire, that comes first.
