Chemical weapons were being used in WW1; Hitler was even the victim of numerous gas attacks. Why is it so unimaginable to you that the Nazis wouldn't construct small confined spaces to execute prisoners with gas who were incapable of working (i.e. old people and children), or - when they thought the end was near for their armies - just wanted to execute as many prisoners as possible?
And even with the mass graves they had crematoriums at prison camps to dispose of some of the bodies.

Not every body was disposed of in a crematorium, and I'd imagine they wouldn't simply put 1 body at a time in the ovens.

How can we know that? How can we know exactly how many were killed. Was every record recovered? Have we even been able to find and exhume all of the mass graves? Whats the weight in ashes disposed of from the crematoriums?
How do you intend to apply the scientific method to this without that information?

The numbers are 25 million casualties from WW2, ~6 million of them jews; thats ~24% of casualties from a world war, where the primary target of the Nazis was jews.
