fuck yeah, also, is it going pos on the 16th or just one step closer?
We'll then start buying it faggot.
>3 hard forks
ethereum will always be ethereum, just like bitcoin will always be bitcoin, and the only other version of ethereum that has any value at all is ethereum classic, without the dao bailout, and any of the other consensus breaking forks.
trying to fork from ethereum today leaves you with a completely broken chain full of contracts and tokens that don't work, its literally not possible for a minority fork of ethereum to matter ever since ethereum classic
so the free coins you get are useless trash?
Yeah just like Bee-Cash to Corecoin.
Is it time for free money again? Holy fuck crypto is the future
of course they are, no fork has ever amounted to anything, even bcash the largest ever fork crumbled because they just left bitcoin with all of the angsty children who then inevitably decided to fork yet again when things weren't going their way.
its even more worthless for ethereum because ethereum itself is host to ~45% of all other coins on CMC, the fork will have none of that.
>Ethereum Nowa
>significant
"Good coins" lol
Will these be on my ether wallet?
What other exchanges/wallets will give the fork tokens?
Where do i have to keep my eth to receive forked shitcoins? Cant find no info.
LMAO yall realize as soon as the forks happen eth will dump back to double digits
>skelly dragging his feet on sharding and PoS
>fuckit I’ll do it myself.
Don’t keep it on an exchange. Use my etherwallet or ledger nano.
But get it on an exchange right away so you can sell it right away.
So if i keep my ETH in my MEW after the fork there will be my ETH + some erc20 funny money? Or do i lose my eth in exchange for the forked ones? Sorry always avoided this ponzi shit
the whole point of these new ETH "forks" is to scam people with fake wallets to steal their keys. it works because bitcoin ruined the true meaning of fork which is just a software upgrade in terms of blockchain.
biz is too retarded to realize it, just let them get scammed
can I get these forks on binance?
>So if i keep my ETH in my MEW after the fork there will be my ETH + some erc20 funny money?
Correct.
Don’t count on it. Withdraw to metamask at least is the only way to be sure.
>classic vision
cringe
>eth
cringe
Honestly is it worth my time to even get these forked shitcoins. Pretty sure you can’t keep them on your Nanos because you need the private for most forks, so I would have to put it in some shit Waller, wait for the fork shot, then move the ether back to my main safe wallet then extract the private key to the wallet that held the ether at time of snapshot and put that private key into the new forked block chain then moved the forked coins to a new safe wallet. It is honestly worth it??
you forget the part where they steal all your ETH on the primary chain through a script because the private keys are they same on both chains
>ethereum will always be ethereum, just like bitcoin will always be bitcoin,
Is this the cashie bull run but for a shitcoin then?
No read, I said once I have extracted the private key I said move the ether back to a safe wallet
came here to ask this as well. Any of you neckbeards know?
Fuck me seriously. Look up any old fork to see what to do. Also no exchange has announced they are supporting the fork and I highly doubt any of them will
Thanks, have been reading. So really is this fork even worth getting?
implying etc matters
does it matter on which exchange i hold them?
no, one of them is already a confirmed scam, the team pics are straight from stock photo sites
odds are any other will be confirmed scams. the last real contentious hard fork of ETH was ETC which had a valid reason to break off from the main chain. these are just pointless. ETH also has a replay safe smart contract to use with ETC to prevent any shenanigans.
I really don't get why forks retain any value at all. Who really puts money into an old fork? Seems like the value should just endlessly deflate but that doesn't happen
Having BTC or ETH in the name does wonders even if it's a blatant scam.
Ethereum Blue (Now Blue protocol) was a prime example. I had some lying around on Etherdelta back in October 2017 and that did x400. Plenty of scam coins were easy money if you dumped at the right time. Bitcoin Gold and Bitcoin Diamond etc.
Not that those were forks at all they just have it in the name.
that was exactly the case for years until the bitcoin scaling war, so now people expect multiple forks that exchanges are forced to list if they want to or not and "free" coins to spend. no one remembers the time when forks were just a new software version. the funny part is the free coins from bitcoin has a worse economic effect than ETH ICOs. not deflationary at all.
What will the exchanges do with '''my''' forked coins if I keep them on an exchange?
That's why Ver and Craig used bitcoin name for their shitcoins. Craig went one step further and included Satoshi in the next name.
If we see an ETH fork Vitalik's vision I will sell it all
Thanks user
Sounds like my etherwallet is the way to go
Store your eth on a temp eth account, after the drop, transfer it out, you will have to use your private key to get the fork coins
you mean when people bought bitcoin hoping to get rich from the bcash fork? doubt it, because most people see how they failed.
not saying it does, but it will always matter more than any other fork or version of ethereum other than ethereum itself.
they do not retain value, its the reason why there are thousands of alts with a non-zero value. its volume that dies with alts, and for these forks they are only here for the speculators, its just there are so many locked/lost coins and whales that dont give a fuck about a few tens of thousands of dollars worth of some minority chain to do anything about it.
>Having BTC or ETH in the name does wonders even if it's a blatant scam.
it used to, bcash proved to the world how fundamentally worthless all of those forks are though, and the forking meme is slowly dying.
Newfag here, what happens to the ETH I have on some exchanges after the Constantinople fork? I get I won't get those new coins, anything else?
