Apple's crash is very funny edition (they deserve far worse)
>I'm new to the stock market, what stocks should I buy? Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks, Ratsu has the IQ of swiss cheese, and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.
im really excited to buy extremely low priced cheapies yes
as big of a dip as possible please, if i am able to buy SPY at $150 I might end up retiring so quickly i dont even know what to do with myself for the rest of my 30s and beyond
Bentley Smith
With volatility and uncertainty, most surviving funds would time an exit. And to those who believe that the 2007 Recession would not happen again, read up on CLOs (Collateralized Loan Obligations) and why a rise in interest rate would lead to a Cascade event that would reverberate throughout the US economy
Elijah Moore
Dude we could actually buy houses if SPY went to 150. Think about how crazy that would be.
Henry Bailey
ive been thinking of buying a house anyways soon, like this calendar year, but i have no idea when the 'timing' is right
if rates keep going up thats bad for my mortgage, but presumably prices will drop as a recession hits? im too young to know how house prices/equity prices usually work in tandem alongside interest rates....
>Asking permission from strangers What are you? Ten? Surely you are old enough to make your bed and sleep in it

BTC is not private or fungible.
What use does a large corporate entity or institution have with a coin that can be analysed through chain analysis so that their competitors, foreign governments, or other bad actors can analyse all of their transactions data?
Information leaked includes relationships, supply chains, profit and loss information, accumulated wealth, and more.
For people serious about Business Monero is the answer. Data mining will be a serious issue for commercial deployments.
Wait. Im down like 2k in my retirement account. Idk I think im going to hold that because its all s&p 500 with drip. Maybe I will start setting aside money this year to buy in with like 4k more.
Adam Kelly
>permission I'm looking for sound financial advice.
how the fuck do people make money off brokers with commissions? i know robinhood is free but they wanted a pic of my license and thats too 1984ish for my tastes desu. maybe im just paranoid. anyway FUCK ETRADE and any other broker with commissions. Tired of paying $7 just to fuckin buy or sell. This is hell for a day trader
Levi Jackson
>how to spot a poorfag When you're trading multiple thousands at once, $5 is literally nothing.
>it literally means you start off every trade in the red
and yeah im fuckin poor but so is 80% of this board and everybody has to start somewhere. makes it a lot fuckin harder with these stupidass fees
Cameron Morgan
>i know robinhood is free but they wanted a pic of my license and thats too 1984ish for my tastes desu what could they possibly do with whats on your license? robinhood isnt a chink company that just popped up overnight
Jayden Foster
>>as big of a dip as possible please, if i am able to buy SPY at $150 I might end up retiring so quickly i dont even know what to do with myself for the rest of my 30s and beyond just imagine how fast youd be rich if SPX dropped down to $150 !
many policies from 2009 and 2008 where ten year stopgaps, simply congress kicking the can down the road but new congresses since then have done nothing to fix the underlying problems
you must wait and have patience
>full blood moon eclipse on January 21 >twards the end of earnings season I wouldnt
very nice! todays pump felt too weak considering the pumps we have been having this past month/three months
but then again >having a class where you are actually able to check your phone durring lecture that does not bode well for your future...
they either have 5-6 digit figures or they dont
>but they wanted a pic of my license and thats too 1984ish for my tastes wait until you see all the requirements that others impose to join
license is standard boilerplate stuff for financial services then again when i joined robinhood they just wanted my social security number and a bank account routing number maybe my drivers licence too? idk it was so long ago..
>a person's worth is equal to his portfolio's size not true, just look at RKG
not so much as i think theyll sell off my data or whatever (since literally everybody does) but you hear all these stories of data breeches and i dont want some venezuelan stealing my identity
Angel Morris
>in the red Literally 0.1% in either direction is more than $5. >start somewhere You get a job and make real money or get lucky. You don't start out by day trading with $500 like a retard. Try learning some math first and you'll see why day trading is stupid, especially with low capital.
Poorfag isn't just portfolio size, its a state of being.
>1st day of class where they are covering the same rules >phone bad Ya ok retard lol who responds like this to everyone in one post? Real boomer-tier shit. Shall we exchange emails too?
NP. I've just always had a Bloomberg tab open because if nothing else, they are live and free and have a fat pipe.
And isn't it wonderful what's happening to Cook's Apple? Sorry, Tim, the market wants stocks that taste good, not stocks with good taste. Next time, just tweet it, sweetie.
Michael Davis

Running some stock market data through R right now. Any requests for things to analyze? First thing is checking what happens if you invest in 2 year treasuries for the three years after every yield curve inversion while otherwise tracking the market.

>all those announcements in the next 24 hours we are in for a bumpy ride this week arnt we? only a black swan could save us from the volatility at this rate
damn early first week, mine dont start for two more weeks
>Ya ok retard lol who responds like this to everyone in one post? Real boomer-tier shit. Shall we exchange emails too?
>>And isn't it wonderful what's happening to Cook's Apple? yes, the cult of (apple's marketing department) is finally being overcome by their anti-consumer practices
run a Laplace Transform on the SPY for the past decade or two, and then show me the frequency domain of its price
I'd appreciate it if you'd link to downloadable price data, I'm as sure as hell not scrubing websites for that shit.
I'll do my best.
put together by a kindly professor at yale, price, dividend and CPI data all lined up with a bunch of extra inputs too: econ.yale.edu/~shiller/data.htm

Dear Spawn of Satan:
So you will not curse me, I need to warn you that, for a few hours during the weekends, Bloomberg does run infomercials. It can be unnerving when you wake up after a bender and tune in to see some vacuum cleaner salesman. BUT, when any market anywhere is open, Bloomberg is there.
Red Alert! Shields Up!
The Reality Distortion Field is under attack.

Alright guys here is the plan. Company I'm getting hired at gives it's employees a discount when buying company stock. We get a 15% discount on the stocks lowest worth from the past 6 months. Should i just buy hold sell and repeat?
Its capped and restricted. You said 6 months, so I assume you can't sell the stock for at least 90 days after purchase, probably more, could be up to a year. If you genuinely believe its going to go up or stay the same, then its a good deal. Just remember it won't be liquid.
Eli Russell
Since I’m bored and cant trade till last week of march can some people give me predictions or estimates on where SPY will be trading at. I want some post I can screenshot and then post about when I can finally trade again.
this data only goes back the past ten years, not really useful.
Caleb Adams
They expire on Monday tard, it was a short term play. I was waiting for the hourly trend to break to make sure the lower high was set on the daily chart. But I had my GRE exam this morning so I bought the puts too early. REEEEEE
Tyler Bailey
How many witches expire on Monday?
Bentley Thomas
>This is hell for a day trader
If you live in the US your portfolio should be at least 25k in that case. Also, if it is and you do make a day trader's level of trades, you will qualify for a cheaper rate.
Evan Gray
what are you whining about? Look at futures. APPL shit the bed. The USD/JPY flash crashed 5% while Japan markets are closed tomorrow. This week is looking to be a bloodbath.
Brayden Hall
GSL only has 10 years TWST went public a few months ago GOLD and ABX just merged
Noah Campbell
well there's not much information you can get form any of that, if you want to predict the future with any level of accuracy you need a huge dataset. In this case, I'm specifically looking at investment strategies after a signal like a yield curve inversion, of which there is a sample space of 1 in that time frame.
Carter Perez
>predicting the future of a stock price based on its previous prices Next you'll tell me you can predict the next roulette number based on past roulette spins.
Once again biztards are going to get BTFO because of futures. Apple names the China jew and their markets were barely down today. Keep doing the most obvious moves everyday and stay poor.
SHCOMP peaked in 2007, at 6000. It's 2500 now. Chinese "markets" aren't indicative of anything
Jack Campbell
I wasn't saying they were and for sure not in the case of Apples overpriced shit. Was saying that no one seems to think it's possible to get short squeezed.
Easton James
but their consumers are influenced by their "markets"
but from a stock standpoint their "markets" are nothing
>but their consumers are influenced by their "markets" That's also not true. It's nothing but a vessel for speculation/gambling, not unlike Bitcoin. Their 401k equivalent isn't even in the stock market. Usually it's a mix of short term bond funds and money market funds that averages 4~9% a year.

What are some books that I should read as a new person to investing, I want to enrich my mind as much as possible,(I have seen the books pastebin) BUT I am wondering if there are any books that made a breakthrough in your learning, if that makes sense. Thanks bros
