She's right, you know, ripple is the name of the company that made the coin. I just call XRP ripple anyway for convenience.

kek this cant be real

Wasn't it called Ripple? Why isn't it called Ripple anymore?

Why do all these scam coins keep changing their name? Ripple, Antshares, RaiBlocks. VEN is now VET. Why is this?

Ripple is the business, XRP is the coin used by this business in their services. XRP predates the creation of Ripple as a company

>Wasn't it called Ripple?
yes
>Why isn't it called Ripple anymore?
because they realized that made it a unregulated security

How does a name make it a security?

Why do so many shitcoins put X as the first letter in their ticker?

its the standard code in forex for non government currencies

What are some non government currencies that aren't cryptos?

it was used for metals because they used to be currencies, thats why gold symbol is XAU and silver is XAG

What she said is actually factually accurate. XRP does pre-date Bitcoin.

One of my favorites

No, Ripplepay (the idea) did. It wasn't implemented until 2011. Satoshi mentions Ripplepay in an early email as well.

>XRP predates the creation of Ripple as a company
Barely. The same people who made xrp worked at ripple. They even use to call it international (x) ripple protocol (rp).
>How does a name make it a security
It doesnt but it allows the company ripple to pretend it isnt an investment vehicle and act like its just some random coin. That's why they distanced themselves from it recently.

Come on, post some OC biz, I'm dyin here

>MUH RIPPLE PREDATES BITCOIN
It wasn't even close Blockchain/crypto! They drew the idea for XRP from BTC, that is why it is listed as the first reference in the XRP white paper! Pic related

Mastercard is now exploring blockchain ideas. The same train of 'logic' that says ripple predates BTC also says Mastercard predates BTC!

OMG GUYS Mastercard predates BTC!!!!! WOW
Satoshi got the idea from Mastercard!
