Entrepreurship gurus

What's all the guru epidemic that's going on? Pic related, Tim Ferriss, Tim Robbins and a thousand podcasts, and also billionaires releasing their "heartfelt" advice, like Ray Dalio.
Looks like most these gurus make their money, and success...by being a fucking guru. People follow them and treat them like a cult leader.
I got some good tips from them, but it gets old fast.
Opinions?

That's because they do. I'm close with a lot of guys in the ecommerce scene and very few of them actually make sales on their products, rather with selling a lifestyle with their course for $997 a pop.

Fake it till you make it basically

That fucking S-O-Y face jeebus.

Pretty much top row on Google images. His voice and personality are unbearable as well.
Can you gib a qrd on what they do? I want them monies

Well.. for the most part yes, but Ray Dalio kinda has quite the credentials to back up his bs

Gary Vee gives all the stuff for free. He is one of the most succesfull persons in the world. If you are smart yourself you can pick out the key parts, and look through the act.

Yeah, and hia book is ok desu. My question was framed like shit, it was meant to focus only on the comference-giving gurus

I do. However, his content has a lot of filler and smoke. After a short while sounds like he's on a loop.

Bro. Gary Vee is legit. I learned alot about business from his courses. Sure, I had to pay 2000 dollars, but I'm ready to become a succesful entrepreneur when I start my business.

My issue with him is that he talks to people as if he started from nothing and they can get to his position with the same amount of work. He always conveniently leaves out the part where he inherited a $3M/y wine business from his dad.

Not true, I hear him mention that all the time.

Okay so how does that make his story inspirational? How are you supposed to take anything away from his talks beyond “inherit a successful business”?

I was going to post this exact thread yesterday.
WTF is Dalio in particular up to?
What's
your
game

It's always been like that, dude. What are you 19?

Taking a business from 3M to 60M is a success. I understand what you mean tho and agree.
Some of his videos that show meetings with business owners are kind of interesting.
I wish I was 19. It wasn't always like, now there is an over abundance that's kind of intriguing. It's like any asshole finds his niche audience and milk it. Fine by me, wish I could do that.

>People follow them and treat them like a cult leader.
because they are cult leaders
literally
and you're retard to even think of listening to this crap

>Can you gib a qrd on what they do?
Course user.
>make a few hundred thousand in actual ecommerce
>make it look like they're millionaires
>hire me to build out funnels for them
>put together a social media following flexing all the stuff they have
>YOU CAN LIVE JUST LIKE ME FOR JUST A THOUSAND DOLLARS
>get millions of hood rats to save up a grand and buy their dropshipping course
>Then charge them $50-$75 a month to be in their "inner circle" private chats
Easy, easy money.

>Sad story to relate with victim and build trust
>Differentiating from competition
>Get them emotional, make them feel FOMO
>Give bullshit arguments to support your case, aslong as you got them emotional they will eat it
>Repeat the same message over and over untill victim breaks

Thanks user. I have spotted several of those on youtube alone. Seems like too easy to see through them but of only 1000 naive people buys their 1k course, they make 1M

Why would I pass on listening to knowledge? It's like this site, most is shit and larping fags, but there's always a hidden good post under all the crap. It's not yours in this case

YOU are the customer

they're not giving you this advice for free. they are the product themselves.

they found it's easier to be a professional bullshitter than to create something of actual value. none of them have achieved anything on their own, or if they did, they didn't make very much and made much more selling bullshit. so that's what they do now, sell bullshit.

none of them are downgrading their income to sell you bullshit. they're all hacks, and the bullshit they're selling IS their only success.

Of course, but user meant free as in free of charge for you. They use your data and clicks to build up their brand and attract investors. But that's beside the point.

I find it particularly hilarious when people shit on Alex Jones for selling supplements and meme pills, but they go and buy the crap Ferriss sells. That guy is a hack, 100%, loves using drugs chemical names and dropping "scientific" terms around, then bullshit a bit about how "every CEO in sillicon valley is doing this" and retards buy and swallow those pills.
Insane.

their financial success from selling bullshit comes due to their rise in popularity of telling people pseudo-inspirational bullshit that they want to hear

this lets them sell books (they probably don't even write themselves), work with advertisers, do seminars, and host online courses where they charge normies hundreds of dollars to buy their bullshit.

lmao

Being a "guru" is a business and quite frankly they make money by attracting naive idiots.

However, Ray Dalio founded and leads one of the largest hedge funds in the world. His Principles books give some of the most legitimate advice I've gotten and his new book also seems pretty legit.

I've definitely noticed a higher influx of these bullshitters since 2012 or so.

And yes, most of their schtick is telling feel good bullshit and selling productivity porn. I've wasted too much time reading/watching that kind of stuff instead of actually doing things because deep down it's easier and it allows you to daydream for a bit about your future entrepreneurial self, until you go to sleep and then on the next day you go wagecucking.

There are some golden nuggets here and there but at a certain point you get really diminished returns and that's when you should cut down on all that crap and focus on your shit

TL;DR: Bullshitters selling short term gratification bullshit.

Agree 100%
Dalio is legit, even his animated stories on youtube are ok. What I meant is why all of a sudden every billionaire is giving free advice.
>Watch Dalio's interview with Gary Veynerchuck if you're in for a cringefest.

Cause their lifes are empty from focussing on making money and financial success and they try to fill that void giving regular joe advice that will shower them with blessings and positive reactions, but they do that for anyone who bothers to upload a video and speaks with confidence.

Most people are stuck in their lifes and would love for some prince to wander into their lifes and tell them exactly what to do and then they somehow make it. I was just watching some old video's on trading and in every video comment section it's always the same. Retail traders that aren't turning profits telling people what a profitable trader looks like. One can only wonder.

The advice they give you is run of the mill standard shit, and yes superficially it seems like someone is giving some real expertise but they're just repeating what's been said over a million times before.

Want change? Go do something but realize that nothing is guarranteed and you're more likely just like everyone else to fail, and fail miserably and never recover from your failures. Still want to do it?

But nothing comes from nothing, so if you want anything you have to do anything. But you're more likely to fail and never recover.

If just like succes stories all the sore loser stories would get posted on youtube, you'd have a real hard time finding any millionaire. You'd have given up before trying.

This is true.
>Most people are stuck in their lifes and would love for some prince to wander into their lifes and tell them exactly what to do and then they somehow make it>
I noticed how most these billionaires alk about how having a mentor changed their lives. Sounds weird to me and can't help but thinking that richer older men fucked them in order to access that higher circle.
