Short term, I see that it is still a good way to "tether" to the entire crypto mcap. If you make good gains on ETH in a day or something (up 20% in a day), its not bad to take profits to BTC. You will move with the market, and chances are whatever alt you are in will retrace and you can buy back.

I do think it will always exist but it just isn't the best way to make gains. There are a lot of people who ideologically support the coin.

I'm in crypto since late 2010 and I hate bitcoin for reneging on all past promises. There's some limit to block size, but it's way above current size. Adoption was destroyed by core's refusal to increase it.

Ethereum is the leading candidate to make the world actually decentralized.
Algorithmic stablecoins are a way better currency than bitcoin. Bitcoin has no use case anymore and the faster it dies, the better for everyone and everything.
