>remembering torrenting gta 4 - secretly fake going to bed, spending literally atleast 2 weeks every night for the total 11 GB file watching qtorrent

JUST, especially that I was so close to it, had everything needed

Implying you knew about bitcoin back then, kek'd.

You would have sold at 10$ like any sane person would have done.

>be me, 2011 or 2012
>discover darknet
>discover silk road
>holy fuck you can buy lsd on the internet?!
>look into it, says i need to use bitcoin to buy it
>read about bitcoin
>you can buy it but you may not get your money back
>lmao how retarded
>2017
>see bitcoin is $1000
>HOLY FUCK I MISSED OUT
>2018
>all in chainlink
kill me

i actually mined 24/7 in 2010 but herp a derp nothing mined for three weeks, meh just turn it off

what we SHOULD have done was abuse faucets. you got 0.1 BTC for free back in those days. not even sure you needed to verify your unique emails for it either

I was literally searching on google for days in November 2009 how to make money using CPU/GPU power and found only some scammy company offering peanuts. BTC did not have fiat value during that time that's why I failed to find it.

I heard about it first in November 2010 but only as a link to some weird exchange selling internet currency for like $0.01/BTC. Did not know it was p2p, did not know it was mineable. All I thought it was just some guy who made his own currency on his own website

Then I got into it in April 2011 when GPU mining emerged but it was already too late. That 5 months difference sadly meant absolutely everything in terms of making it big

>That 5 months difference sadly meant absolutely everything in terms of making it big
We both know that you could have been a multi-millionaire today if you had just bought 1000 bucks worth of BTC back in 2011. We'd like to tell ourselves that we missed the window but the fact is we kept missing it over and over again.

Many are still missing the window even today. Buy BSV.

yep what I meant by making it big was mining on consumer hardware. I never really trusted BTC to pour money directly into coins. But mining was easy way how to get paid for new hardware. I never sold my mined coins during cycles and never felt much regret because I felt they are more valuable. But crash from last ATH was something else and really ruined my life mentally

I had a Core Due Duo and a 8800GT in 2009 that was like the NASA PC to mine BTC back then.

But... I only heard about BTC in 2011
But... I never bought a single BTC until 2013
But... I only mined DOGE
But... I left them on Cryptsy

>1GB RAM decent in 2010
At least get your numbers right, even GTA 4 system requirements list 1.5 GB as minimum, 2 - 2.5 GB recommended.

I found out about Bitcoin in early 2012, but I was going through chronic anxiety and would get panic attacks regularly with barely any sleep, so I wasn't really motivated at the time to learn more and here I'am, recovering well from my mental woes but broke as shit.

Knowing me, I would have probably fucking sold after a pump anyways or gotten caught in the mt.gox wave.

Same. I was like 12 in 2009 and I was obsessed with GTA IV. Those days I had nothing to do. The teaching that this gives us is that the sooner you start to worry about your economic future the better. I honestly blame our parents for not teaching us anything better than spending all day playing video games

Cryptsy had a class action, cutoff to get in was last year i think

> first heard of btc when it hit $1, was curious, told people about it, didnt mine or buy because didnt take it seriously or look into it enough
> remeber it hitting $100, started mining sometime after, at this point it was a bit late and you needed asics
> looked into asic, there was a company in the us (forget the name) who sold them for like $4k but it looked super scammer (hint, they disappeared later after making miners, using them and thrn delivering them late and burnt out after difficulty increases)
> mined for cryptsy, ltc rabbit and nicehash, all went under or got hacked etc
> never bought off gox because didnt trust transfer cash to japan and sending id over net
> never bought off localbtc because didnt trust randos
> tried to buy btc when it was $400ish but looked at exchanges instead of easy on ramps and was too busy to deal with learning
> btc crashes and rises, dont think about it or pay attention
> hits $1k and i think that is insane, wasaay too high, it will crash, its not worth that much
> lose interest, people are crazy
> never looked into the details enough to realize people arent as crazy as i thought
> hits 10k and mania starts
> fuck it, im in.
> start buying alts, make some quick cash in dec
> jan 18
> here we are

>Hurr durr I could've been a millionaire I was so close
This is what every brainlet tells themselves. Then there's an opportunity out RIGHT NOW that could get you rich, and in a few years you'll be saying how you "were so close" then too. Pretty much everyone in their late 20s and 30s could be millionaires right now if they invested in certain big stocks while young, but you never hear most complaining and saying these "what ifs". You're like the boomer who says that he could have been a star quarterback if he didn't get injured. Don't feel bad about not being a millionaire right now, because in actuality you were never even close.

>Won a sports bet for $900
>go to cashout
>wire transfer takes 5 days
>bitcoin takes 1
>end up with 9.5 BTC
>cash it out with coinbase
:(

>I blame our parents for not teaching us anything better than spending all day playing video games
No parent has ever done that

>See /b/ tards talking about bitcoin and trading it between each other and giving them away by the 10's in 2010ish
>Think to myself that's some fucking gay shit who would waste their time with that
>mfw

First year in dorms.
Read about Satoshi's Vision on Ycom, must have been feb 09.
>Normies DO NOT CARE about the Truth or actual Freedom, consenting to the RP fiasco in Tampa
Attempt once to edit the configuration of a miner with e6600 and 8800gt
>Torrenting and seeding is probably more valuable use of time/energy
Well those hdd platters with everything collected are still dead waiting to be recovered.
>Buy penny stocks late summer of 11' instead of btc beleiving it will gain before BTC... Those are still cellarboxed at .0001.

>make near 50 BTC from scamming darknet market noobs looking for weed / hash / heroin / etc on reddit in Q1 2017
>gamble and spend it all away on happy ending massages and luxury dinners and trips
>bull run happens Q4 2017
>could've been a millionaire now

i dont know what to feel

/thread
OP & poorfags btfo

this is very wrong and you are an idiot

What bugs my mind isn't BTC. It was obscure and niche, and took a while to boom. It was easy to miss and nobody, absolutely nobody had idea of how far would it go. Actually, nobody still has.
But being 2016, and missing Ethereum at

>got my first PC in 1998
>posted on Jow Forums since 2006
>saw BTC being shilled in /b/ and /news/ (what used to be Jow Forums) and Jow Forums
>people posted literal bitcoin faucets which gave you free bitcoin by clicking links
>ignored this shit for years
>finally in 2013 set up coinbase account - pic related
>just checked historical price and it was the week BTC went from $350 to $1200 so there must have been some epic shills on here
>signed up when it was $800
>didn't buy anything
>finally buy in September 2017 when it is $3000
>didn't have time to accumulate a big stack before it hit $20k

All in LINK now though, so not bothered too much.

I had a Radeon 5870 in 2010. JUST fuck my shit up

Attached: wtrtyyyy.jpg (425x331, 17K)

>find about BTC summer of 2009
>had Geforce 280 TI setup
>setup a wallet, download some miner, put wallet address in it and hit some orange button
>after 30 minutes of mining i check my account and in shows something like 0.015098$
>say fuck it and delete all mining software form the PC
>go back playing Warcraft 3 and Counter Strike 1.5

it’s worse for me. I saw Buttcoin shill threads on Jow Forums in 2010-2011 and ACTIVELY FILTERED them because I thought they were spam. I had a video card too. FUCK. I will be regretting this on my deathbed.

I bought 295 specially for gta 5 and not a single psu can handle this fucking monster. What about bitcoin that first miners were without gui without explanation and they crashed as every windows related soft so even if you knew about it it's not a fact that you could had skills to participate in newborn community

at least you found LINK

You'd have probably got GOX'd.

>you think a class action is gonna pay anyone other than the lawyers

Yeah I read it but it’s not like MtGox, Big Vern disappeared somewhere in China or SEA, deleting all the customers infos.

I lost a significant amount of DOGE, but learned a lesson, I guess.

why would a child care about what at the time was some computer science experiment?

What's this opportunity you are talking about fren

Tried mining in April 2010, was too young and dumb to get the thing running (had core two duo),,, was in thread where guy was trying to sell 28,000 btc for two pizza and couldn't... Gave up trying. Had access to octa core server in late 2013, tried mining but too slow, gave up.

what is ethereum?

Wow this is me. Only im really confident in link. How can you not be?
