In 2011 I acquired 17,246 bitcoins from various gaming websites I was involved in.
In a nutshell, what is the best way to liquidate these coins so as not to disturb the market?

You will find help there for certain, dont have any links myself as I'm not a whale but some get posted from time to time. If you check the warsou archive you can find threads talking about such but the links will surely have expired. I remember the criteria for joining was signing from your whale wallet to verify. Why not just sell a few a day until it's done? Seems pretty easy. I don't know why you'd liquidate now but I guess either way you're completely set for life even if it dumps to 1k.
Even selling a couple hundred a day is easily doable on any fiat exchange and you can probably easily get verified to meet their withdrawal limits.
