I wouldn't want to take anything long term that alters production of naturally occurring chemicals in the brain. The brain has a natural homeostasis. What do you think is going to happen when you significantly alter that homeostasis for a long period of time? Its going to change your brain chemistry. Then, you become reliant on drugs. It doesn't matter if that is a prescription drug, or weed, or nootropics; all of them, with prolonged use will alter your brain and make you reliant on them. Why would you do that to yourself just for some short lived extra focus?
Literally everything you do, smell, eat, etc. will affect your body's internal chemistry in some way you inbred.
I never got much from regular piracetam, but phenylpiracetam definitely makes me sharper. The problem with it is that tolerance sets in extremely fast, so it's only practical to use it once or twice a week max.
ncbi.nlm.nih.gov
Read the wiki page and other publications on the ncbi website. Great substance and has been found to be non addictive and have no negative effects even with very long term use. In fact, it potentially has beneficial effects.
That's like comparing eating a block of tofu one day to taking estrogen for 5 years straight. One will have very negligible, if any effect. The other one makes you a transvestite. Can you guess which is which?
Phenylpiracetam also acts as a dopamine and noradrenaline reuptake inhibitor so it's a bit more stimulating. I personally dislike it since there's a tiny crash once it wears off (milder than coffee, but still).
you're a moron
> don't take any medication ever!!! it will upset the natural homeostasis of your brain
> dies
Well ok sure but you realize you're again contradicting yourself by grouping all drugs, nootropics, etc under the same umbrella then? Have you considered the fact that maybe some of them don't really negatively change your brain chemistry or make you reliant on them? There's studies done on racetams and you can freely access them.
Additionally, replace tofu with foods containing trans fats or something and tell me that eating that everyday won't have a negative effect on your body. See how you can't put everything under a single umbrella?
Why would you not expect excessive manipulation of neurotransmitter systems to lead to various pathologies. This shit is pretty well documented. Serotonin syndrome, depression, anxiety, stimulant psychosis. Go read a fucking book and get off Jow Forums for a bit before you decide to start filling your body with drugs.
>Serotonin syndrome
Yes, mixing multiple serotonergic drugs will do that.
>depression, anxiety
Yes, common withdrawal symptoms if you overdo many drugs
>stimulant psychosis
Again, limited mostly to amphetamines and only if you overdo them
Even your tofu is toxic if that's all you ate all day every day. The dose makes the poison. Now get off of this board, boomer.
do you drink coffee then?
hes saying to be more scrutinizing of the drugs you put in there.
short term gains always perferred by human instead long term goals baka
I agree, but the problem I see there as that since most of these chemicals are new they have first of all not had much medical research performed on them, and secondly have not had any long term longitudinal studies done, simply because there hasn't been enough time. Its too much like being a guinea pig. I don't want to end up the person from the 1940's who finds out years later the glowing paint they were painting watches with gave them cancer.
piracetam isnt a stim. caffeine is a better noot anyway
Lol this. Memetropics are misty placebo except for a few exceptions like phenibut and theanine.
piracetam has been studied for a long time
Well fair enough, that's a legitimate concern sure. However, I'd also like to remind you that doctors are not sure of how many commonly prescribed medications work either: SSRIs, SNRIs, etc. Not the precise mode of action, but just vague understandings. Although I can understand your stance and that's 100% a valid reason to stay away if you think it's a risk not worth taking.
>Phenibut
I love phenibut, but it's not a nootropic lol. It's literally like a legal benzo/gabapentinoid and long term use will lead to cognitive decline and withdrawal. At 500mg it can be quite stimulating however.
Theanine is a complete meme by itself but does go along well with caffeine.
phenibut is also a noot in addition to being a gabaergic
>Theanine is a complete meme by itself but does go along well with caffeine.
Works great by itself at higher doses as a sleep aid. An hour after three 200mg capsules, I am zonked out and sleep like a log.
Where do you buy from? I've tried doses as high as 600mg and I didn't feel much.
okay, doc. i don't even take piracetam and i know you're full of shit. just search for the drug on pubmed. there have been countless studies that say that it is beneficial and harmless as long as it's taken at non-retarded doses.
> b...but the brain has a natural homeostasis
seriously, kill yourself. there are drugs that are beneficial to people and safe. hope you never come down with a serious disease where you have to take a drug long-term that interrupts your natural homeostasis faggot
>not just taking meth
pussies
Prescription meds are also pretty meme tier. They're very heavily over-prescribed and I would bet a good majority of people on them in the states don't need them. Sure, if you're a straight paranoid schizo, they are likely good as they help restore the imbalance in your brain, but for most people, I think it's just the pharmaceutics industry and shrinks convincing people to take more drugs.
I've know a few people in my life who have fallen for the "5 prescription drugs a day to fix my brain," meme. All of them seem to suffer memory problems and depression. They say the drugs fix these problems, but knowing them for a long time, it seems like they're just making them a lot worse.
Same goes for weed, were I have a few friends who smoke a lot for "anxiety." Sure that may the case for some people, but for the ones I know who are constantly perma-stoned, it seems like most of their problems come from smoking too much, and not being able to function in normal society as a result, and then becoming a shut in.
You want more focus? Learn to play classical. Spend less time on screens, which is well documented to reduce the ability to focus, and read more and study some things you want to learn. No need to use chemicals.
morons. piracetam is a scam.
hahaha jesus christ. this drug has been studied for like 30 years at least. you're going to have a bad time if you ever get diagnosed with a disease sifu
>taking funny internet designer drugs from China instead of methamphetamine which has been safely used for centuries
bluepilled cuck
I just get whichever brand of suntheanine is cheapest on amazon. It's much more expensive than the bulk powder, but I like the convenience of capsules
> doctor: you have cancer
> user: i only want cancer treatments that are from the 1930s please
>suntheanine
hmm noted, thanks senpai. also, invest in a milligram scale desu. saved me a lot of money in the long run. takes only less than a minute to weigh out the dose anyway.
back to plebbit nigger
does your post mean that all monero shills are drug dealers? i m retarded, if i think too hard i will starve to death, so please explain.
I took grams and grams of piracetam a day about 10 years ago, alongside choline. It absolutely made me feel amazing but I wonder if I did any long term damage to my brain.
no you didn't. it's safe even at crazy high doses over long term use. there's also studies that have shown its likely neuroprotective.
that's what I used to tell myself when I took it. I researched it heavily. But, at least 10 years ago, there were actually not much studies into this drug, so much so that I doubt we can rule out harm with long term use
yeah but they've done studies on patients with alzheimer's, etc. (fairly long term use) and have obtained statistically significant conclusions.
you can't rule out the harm of staring at computer screens long-term either
>taking piracetam over the superior phenylpiracetam
I bet you don't take modafinil either.
is it good to counter the effects of weed laziness?
I think I read that this helps with memory. I'm taking a big test in two months and need any extra memory edge I can find.
Going to look into this, thanks for the tip! How easy is it to get in the US?
DUMBASS ALERT
Guys, drinks like tea and coffee are way better than any stimulating nootropics. For a depressant/anxiolytic take a glass of wine instead of getting flushed, dilated pupils, and a skin rash from Phenibut. The only one that ever was good is Noopept because the serotonin reuptake agonism made everything feel like on weed with the quality of clarity.
So i started to take chaga, lions mane and reishi extract supplements 2 days ago. I don't really feel much at all yet. thinking of ordering cortexin or cerebrolysin and getting into Semax
Good idea?
Ask that shit on Bluelight forums, you're a lab rat at this point
you know what they say sis, go hard or go home
Enjoy while you can. For me it completely stopped working after 3 months.
literally everything you listed is a meme "nootropic".
this
nootropics are hype schemes
your basic green tea extract capsules provide not just a better cleaner boost but also antioxidants
comebine the simple green tea extract with a preworkout and that's actually the next level
As far as shrooms go, I felt like cordyceps helped my endurance somewhat when I was running. But none of them made enough difference for me to continue shelling out $$$.
>drinking green tea
>green tea extract capsules
what's the difference?
more mgs in the capsules, as well as testing for purity/allergens/etc
but yeah, same stuff, just condensed
Not him, but green tea contains certain beneficial called catechins, the extract contains just that and at a higher amount than a regular cup of tea.
merci anons
i'll read up on this later
imagine taking soiboy racetams when modafinil exists
>Exercise moderation and caution with anything you put in your body
>hurr durr never use any drug!
You might legitimately be retarded.
