>I'm new to the stock market, what stocks should I buy? Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks, LCIguy is a jerk, and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.
i understand your feel, just hold for like another 20 minutes. I heard the golden bull just woke up.

Asked in the last thread, got a shit reply. Again: If I wanted to put an alert for SSO at a price of say $85, what app/website would I use for that alert to show up on my phone the instant the price is met? Can Robinhood do this? I don't want to just set a limit order, I need an alert. The price could be in free fall after all. The answer I got was to set a limit order to buy. Like wtf? Does /smg/ really do it like that? Do you hate money?
>The price could be in free fall after all. trading on your gut feelings instead of predetermined levels and sizing. smart

>AMD presentation at CES is in about 2 hour. imo it'll dump a little after the conference. On AMD website it says "Watch live as AMD CEO, Dr. Lisa Su, presents a keynote address on Wednesday, January 9 at 9 AM Pacific at the Venetian Palazzo Ballroom."
I honestly can't believe how lucky I am today. One of my shorts LOXO jumped 65+% on buyout news, thought I'll get btfo. Then one of my longs QEP gets a buyout offer too, the gain and loss basically offset each other, what are odds of this shit happening lmao?
If the stock market recovers just like that, then this is the fastest pace massive market correction in the history of mankind by an extreme margin.
Jose Rogers
Does trading view support sending notifications to mobile and does it work without a huge delay? Mindlessly trading using """""technical""""" """"""analysis"""""" is why less than 1% of traders make any real money. Get back to me when you learn tape reading.
>Get back to me when you learn tape reading. says the guy that can't figure out how to set an alert for a stock price lmao

reposting from last bread
The gains disappear if you decrease the hold time to 1 year, but they remain if you increase it to 4 years. Yes, 3-4 years is a sweetspot but this is dependent on the average length of the recession and the average time between the yield curve inversion and the start of the recession. You also don't have to follow this formula exactly, so long as you invest /during/ the recession you'll generally do well. The point of the strategy is to prevent the massive losses from a crash, so once a crash has happened pretty much any time you invest is good so long as it's before you get the previous highs.
How about we make a trade user. Here's the data I used which contains historical data for the S & P 500 going back to 1871, including price and dividend, as well as ten year t bond rates, corporate earnings, and CPI for that same time period. econ.yale.edu/~shiller/data.htm
In return I'd appreciate some links you think explain frequency domain well.
see pic in and in simple terms, frequency domain allows you to see past the noise in the time domain
wikipedia may be the best place to start if you want more details, because if you dont know calc, then the technical definitions of frequency analysis (fourier analysis, FFT, IDFT, DFT, ectera)
I did learn some calc for econ classes down the line, and while I learned how to reduce equations into usable forms for different data, I really didn't understand on a deeper level what I was doing.
The thing I don't understand here is the meaning of a frequency domain, are you talking about the changes in the range of a dataset over time?
Eli Williams
don't worry, even though things may be somewhat accelerated by tech, we won't go straight back up, it'll only feel like that during some rallies. then the dumps will come to retest that the bottom is actually the bottom. markets haven't changed

And yeah, I guess I'll wiki this but I'm not sure how helpful that'll be. I'm a real brainlet when it comes to math that isn't just stats.

RRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE easy breezy extra squeazy!? How Many Licks Does It Take To Get To The Tootsie Roll Center Of A Tootsie Pop!? THE WORLD MAY NEVER KNOW!!!
It just occurred to me the data i gave you might not be as useful to your purpose, after reading a bit on the frequency domain. The data is only by month so you won't get as much smaller price signals.

I've already felt late to the party since last week
General market is going up, if LCI follows the general market by any measure shorts are forced to cover and a short squeeze will/is starting.
Ian Wood
>Why is Lci rising?
Who knows. It's baffling really.
Nathan Morgan
if you've been in this thread for longer than 2 weeks and you are asking this question.. i'm afraid you may never make it.
They've actually been beating earnings and last er they wrote off a lot of goodwill... and no.. profit margin is going to be >38% with their new drugs! listen to CC!!
LCI undervalued!! Going to $20!! Don't fight it! join it!
Jose Reyes
Reminder that LCI guy is BFG and you should take profit if you haven't already.
Ethan Jenkins
Feeling comfy with AMD, GE, UWT and NVAX. Up 7% on the day.
