That's been said for years. Hasn't happened. They just trade in BTC. The only use Monero really has is washing BTC by trading it for Monero and back to BTC. Nobody is fucking HODLing it so it'll never really be scarce because it hits the market again a few days after it was bought. It's not a terrible coin to buy but it's also not a great one.

moneros not an investment because its future is limited by the nature of how crypto has to move forward in scaling.

monero is a great utility now, but dont think of it as an investment this late into its bull cycle.

Mass adoption of crypto is highly unlikely. Monero's adaptive blocksize enables pretty good scaling at the protocol level.

you dont need mass adoption for monero to grind to a halt. block size means nothing when monero is hard limited in how many txs you can verify/check per second, which is at least an order of magnitude or two lower than bitcoin given it's base layer privacy model.

its good for its niche uses, but it can't scale.

I would consider any activity significant enough to grind Monero's blockchain to a halt something that would go in tandem with a general mass adoption of crypto/bitcoin in general, not just Monero, and I just don't see that happening before second layer scaling is in play. As it is presently, Monero has decent flexibility for the short term.
