If there is high inflation in the US, the federal reserve will most likely continue with rate hikes, which is bad for the stock market. If the inflation is low however, everybody will rejoice and we will have a golden bullrun. We will know this friday.
Next week the brits are voting on brexit (14-15 january). Their parliament is in deadlock, and they will most likely refuse the deal the EU has given them. This will be bad for the market. Could go the other way though.
What im saying is that right now the future is extraordinarily unclear and depending on what happens you can lose all your money. Waiting a few days to see how it plays out is therefore a reasonable thing to do.
