I'm glad I finished college while rent was still cheap. My last apartment I lived in while I was in school was $300 a month. Now you can't find anything less that $900 and it's only been five years. There's no way I would have been able to afford that with the shitty part time job I had.

I think the point about the prolonging maturity is dependent on what each person gets out of and gives back to the system.

If you get assistance while you study and there is the expectation that you return that via your own taxes or required contribution then that's fine. This type of cyclical re contribution is able to help a system flourish.
