Flowerpatch is a browser-based cannabis farming & cryptocurrency MMORPG currently in development. Players will manage their virtual farms through planting and harvesting cannabis crops. The FLOWER tokens (cards) - acquired through market purchases, player trades, harvesting, and breeding - are used by players to plant new and potentially unique flowers on their farms.
The game will feature a breeding system which will enable players to combine FLOWER cards in attempts to gain desirable traits in unique offspring FLOWERs. Randomization algorithms may also grant these offspring stats or traits not found on either parent.
Harvesting a flower may yield SEED or NUG tokens and potentially a FLOWER card. SEED tokens will be used as in-game (in-world) currency to purchase additional farming land, better farming equipment, and other items. NUG tokens will be redeemable (like vouchers/gift cards) in the real world for real cannabis, at supported cannabis dispensaries in areas where recreational cannabis is legal.

If you don't live in a legal market, you can still play the game, use flowers ect. and you will be able to exchange your NUG for ingame items if you can't redeem them at a legal dispensary. You’ll be able to resell the SEED you get from harvesting a flower, but if you live in an illegal area, you’ll only be able to trade your NUG in to Nugbase in exchange for in-game items. Thus, NUG won’t be a p2p thing, but SEED will be a standard erc20 that's easily traded from one player to another.

Can you explain this a little bit more? Do I have to breed them or will they just cross breed by being planted next to each other?

Personally, I've been disappointed by the state of crypto "games". Most are exitscams, ponzis, and even the "legit" projects like Cryptokitties don't even feel like real games. All you can do with your cat is either sell or breed it. That's not interesting at all, and we're committed to building a genuinely amazing mmorpg farming game. Don't take my word for it though, stick around to see the Alpha release Q1 2019.

Sure, you're partly correct –– once the Alpha is out, you will be able to plant&grow your Flowers on Alvita, pic related. You will be able to breed your flower with nearby flowers, even if they are not owned by you (need to own at least 1 Flower). Because breeding is a blockchain operation the user will have to breed each flower individually, and there won't be "faucet" style breeding until we introduce a tech tree that allows for farming automation (similar to Tekkit Minecraft). We'll be releasing the game in ages and the first age will be "Grass Age" aka "Stoned Age". There won't be any crazy tech trees during this age, just the basics: Planting, Harvesting, Breeding, Crafting, Interacting with the map, ect.

Thanks user! Flowerpatch is a hybrid between traditional server/db tech and smart-contract dapp tech.
Obviously all the ERC-standard assets such as Flowers (ERC721) and SEED (ERC20) are publicly on the blockchain, and openly trade-able(you provably own Flowers and SEED).
That said, a lot of the actual game mechanics won't (and don't need to / shouldn't) be on the blockchain, and we'll use traditional db/server tech to ensure pleasant UX for everything not needing the blockchain.
Sounds nice but how will the harvesting and growing work?
Can I just plant a flower and harvest it from time to time?
Like many afk-style games, there will be a cooldown on harvest. and the Flower will have a cooldown period after harvesting assigned to it by a trait called "phoenix". Breeding you can do whenever you like though.

Flowerpatch Alpha will be built entirely for the web, however we will eventually branch out into other clients & stores including steam, ios, android ect (these apps will basically be fancy browser wrappers)
