Adoption will be the DOWNFALL of Chainlink...

Adoption will be the DOWNFALL of Chainlink. Once the amount of collateral needed in USD value exceeds that available across all nodes, the network won’t fucking work anymore.
>Chainlink mcap is $500 million
>smart contract asks for node with $550 million in collateral
>oh shit! The node can’t provide sufficient collateral, EVEN IF they buy 100% of the supply
>mainnet screeches to a halt
>crashes
>unironically ogre
OH NO NO NO NO NO HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

That's why we're going to be billionaires, all of us.

Nice, put this on reddit please

500m marketcap is not even 5$ per coin

>Nobody accepts the contract
>Life moves on

Nice fud though. 3/10

Exactly

No not nice fud, 0/10. 500m marketcap doesn’t mean someone can buy all the link for 500m, it just means the last trade made valued each link traded at that valuation. Expecting that every holder will magically sell at the same price is not even trying brainlet tier

It’s hilarious watching people talk about adoption when there’s no evidence this piece of shit will ever even launch.

fuck off delphi

Jonny here, we'll take that job

the market cap will simply rise to meet the demand
$20k end of decade

By what mechanism? “Magic”? BTFO retard faglord.

>The node can’t provide sufficient collateral, EVEN IF they buy 100% of the supply
Link could unironically be 1 trillion USD per token, and you would still be able to transact 1 cent worth of Link. Link cannot run out.
All your scenario means, is increased demand for Link, meaning increased fiat value for Link.

You don’t understand what the Op is saying.
If the demand for collateral exceeds the mcap of link, it doesn’t matter how many decimal places there are you retard.

>nice fud
>3/10
what are you a woman

>If the demand for collateral exceeds the mcap of link
The node would need to buy until he has enough in fiat. Buying implies demand implies higher prices.
Maybe this won't be possible the first couple of times, but you fucking bet the market will take note of these monster contracts that are outstripping the MC, and adjust the price up accordingly in a real hurry.
Welcome to the concept of supply and demand.

>it doesn’t matter how many decimal places there are
The decimal places mean you can't run out of Link, as implied by the OP.

you'd just use multiple nodes you mong

Lol you still don’t understand. Let me explain it slowly.
Let’s say that the smart contract creators wants his smart contract insured for 500 million dollars in collateral. But the market cap of chainlink is only 400 million. This means that even if the nodes had ALL THE LINK IN CIRCULATION they wouldn’t equal 500 million. They’d only equal 400 million. Meaning the contract can not be insured.

The node would try to buy Link until he reaches the fiat equivalent of 500 million.

Are you stupid or something?

But the fiat equivalent of 500 million can’t be reached if the mcap is only 400 million.

>But the fiat equivalent of 500 million can’t be reached if the mcap is only 400 million.
If the node starts buying, the mcap will rise.
Based retard.

Not if LINK is dumping, which is usually is.
