I still don't understand the obsession with jesus christ himself. Why can't you be spiritual or believe in higher power, believe in holiness, believe in something much greater without "having to give all yourself to jesus". "Pray to jesus" "jesus will save you" "just make yourself be one with jesus and no one else".
It irks me no matter how much I like to understand and possibly be part of christian faith, but it all sounds broken and too dark cultish to me.

Thanks for the facebook tier normie meme slide. But I've been into the esoteric studies for a while now. It just always boggles my mind why people stop at "jesus christ" worship though and don't try to dig into their spirituality deeper.

It's difficult to explain but christianity has a complex dynamic where you have to have faith in both this world and the afterlife and its a never ending dilemma, most religions fall into the both extreme, extreme self denial and being an hermit, or extreme despair about glory and pleasure (pagan gods), I suggest reading philosophy of religion by Hegel

I started with buddhism, gnosticism, taoism, but soon enough i realized almost all of those are bounded to faith in yourself, which gives you the conclusion of despairing at your own reality, you need to have faith in something external to this reality to make the antithesis to this reality

However Im mostly platonic in the sense i think the main tenent to believe in God is to believe in "good", that there has to be joy to be found beyond pleasure, and that joy is where meaning and happiness collide, if you believe you can do good you are already taking a leap of faith where you believe good can bring higher joy, it's mostly i believe love is that eternal property that can give meaning and thus joy to any event happening

You have to believe that there is more than just falling to be an slave to dopamine, that in the end joy through love can redempt everything
