this is true. when i was younger (in my early 20s) i feared i would never meet a girl and experience this "innocent love" that results in a happy marriage with kids, so it was always a run against time and my chances were getting slimmer by the day.

I believe in god because of evil and how rotten the world is, i have faith in the afterlife because of how things degrade in this world and i have faith in this life because i feel there is no joy to be found if there is no afterlife

I could indulge myself in all kinds of pleasure but when illness and death comes it takes away all your joy unless you believe, for us death feels meaningful and that's why it affects our soul so much, the only existential reply to this is to believe in the afterlife or you won't ever feel joy again once you see the death of your loved ones
