One of them didn't want to pay.

sent him a frog meme since they understand only memes.

Somewhere between zoom and millennial here, 1998, I used to have this mentality that renting was everything from a teen age, however in recent years I've awoken to the red-pill of ownership and I'm currently saving for a deposit on a shitty apt that i'll have paid in 4 yrs and earn a $150 minimum weekly rental return when paid off, In the age of uber, the gig-economy and greedy boomers with unrealistic property growth visions, I can't wait for the crash, but everyone I know has little to no financial education and will be "forever renter" wagies that will live paycheck to paycheck.

You're basically a zoomer since you're so close to being born to 2000 and don't share the same cultural experience as someone born in say 95. The mass media of today has increased cultural differentiation between generations into even smaller age groups than previous generations. As a 25 year old boomer, I have more similarity to a 30 year old boomer than a 20 year old.

Why buy a $200,000 3 bedroom house, when you could buy a $400,000 6 unit apartment building and charge $1300/m/unit, and live in one of the units until you pay the building off?

Well I was born in 97 so what am I

I always felt this way, however it's on the edge of "too old for fortnite zoom, too young for bitcoin boom" in a mentality.

You’re only 20-21. At the maximum you spent 3 years renting, which isn’t so bad considering you’re young.

I would love to do this honestly,

However the property market in my country (Australia) specifically where I live, I would be lucky to get a 3 bedroom ((house and land)) for under $500,000 AUD

Fuck you stupid landlord, you will never get my money. Have fun trying to kick me out when I shackle myself to the kitchen sink!!!

>3 years renting

I am trying to make the most of parents help (while I can and not become a 25 yr old basement) as a financial decision, I pay them rent for one room which is extremely cheap in order to save for that juicy deposit.

I am on an apprentice wage full time so it can only get easier in the long run, and I have a gf with full time apprentice income also.

Screams in Autist

Don't worry about generational identity. For example, 90% of people are dumb faggots in all generations. Just be glad you weren't born a literal zoomer or even in the 2010s...We have nobody to blame but ourselves. (Millennials/GenX for propagating a culture that influenced the youth; the zoom/2010 future autism generation would not exist if we didn't target and corrupt the minds of our youth)

man renting must suck, I wouldn't know since I inherited property, but I can't imaging being stuck with appliances or paint that you can't change, not to mention having to pay someone else's mortgage and taxes.

I just finished renovating my kitchen, renters will always be stuck with the cheapest shit their landlords can pass off on them lol.

how am I supposed to buy property when 1600 sq ft houses go for nearly $2 million in my area?

checked

Because for a single family dwelling you only need 20% to secure a mortgage while for multi family you need at least 25%. It's much easier to save 40k cash than 100k.

That's very reasonable when you make $500k a year. You do make $500k a year right user?

I’m 18 and my parents are letting me stay while I go to school, but after that I’ll be forced to rent for a little while before I buy a house. Did your folks show you the door when you turned 18?

The story went a little like this, longpost.

Finished school at 17 normal age here,

Lived in shithole city with zero job avaliability,

Don't get benefits from government because looking for job, think I didn't need them,

Play video close to 12 hrs a day while looking for jobs / waiting for interviews, applied for 100+ within the 14 months, was working mcdonalds in school but quit to find career afterwards, learn the jobs avaliable are just all the same with high employee turnover so never see anything peaking my interest, get a few interviews but nothing comes of it.

Not a very social person, step-dad alcoholic asshole and starts to wonder why I can't find a job, resulted in domestic violence and I was pretty depressed around this time, unemployed nearing a year and a half,

I got a call from family over other side of country, asks if I want a holiday to see them,

I happily accept, pack my bags and leave with no intent of return, 2 months on goverment assitance in big city get part-time at small family tech shop, same-day as interview and application, I move in with my co-worker for around 4-6 months, boss and all of us are fairly young and pc gamers so was a great environment, pay is standard but gets my room rent done, I spend days off playing vidya and drinking,

No friends, look online at meeting apps / dating, find my current partner, we meet, hit it off, I move in with her family, paid rent there, quit job at small business due to stress and fallout with boss, it was a bad time for him and the business was going under because of his personal issues,

Look for jobs around another 6 months, My family moves to larger city, we decide to move over with them as my partner was unemployed, she ends up finding full time work after few months of applying, shortly after I get a full time work too,

still living with asshole step-dad who is now unemployed so keeps his mouth shut, fucking hypocrite.

So technically yes but forcefully,

Too long for TLDR

Essentially BC Parents are renting jews, all my stepdad cared about was money from me, since I didnt have a job he shitted and went ape like a loser so I fucked off and found a gf and work with better family and now since returned, found full time work, family still jews but cheaper than landlord jews, I aim to escape this year as I have a secure job, dual income and enough time to save.

I suppose, my dream is to either be on some kind of gang task unit/swat team/k/ommando but starting a real estate empire isn't far fetched, I have all the handyman skills to maintain it, capital is just tough as you stated

You and me both brother.

The common way of going about it is buying a 2 family house/duplex living in one and renting the other. After a few years once you gain enough equity, sell your duplex and buy a triplex while paying the same mortgage for it. Grow from there

>32
Kill it in fortnite and like memes I mostly bang 24 year olds so that’s prob why.. I do like beastie boys and moshed to Limp Bizkit in my youth tho

>my g g generation

>t. Actual smart zoomer
Keep it up user. You're on the right path. So long as you get in & don't get rekt when the boomers economy crashes (and it sounds like you've got that covered), you'll be fine.

rent seeking slumlords are the bane of capitalism
both adam smith and karl marx knew this
i'm leveraged long on my guillotine ETFs

I already live in a basement like a gremlin, Im only 19 so im still living with my father, but I dropped a couple thousand and renovated it to be a fully functional separate unit, I suppose if I got a duplex I could just live in the basement or just live with my father and manage from there

move is your only option.

The purpose of becoming a landlord is to free up your faculties. You want a steady source of relatively passive income in order to maximize your time with other pursuits.

I know two landlords: one is a full-time farmer on 160 acres (16 properties - 37 tennants), and the other is a real-estate agent (4 properties - 9 tennants). Both basically do quite well and spend their time living the lives they want too.

every normie is beginning to speculate on real estate. The crash will be epic.
