Even if they're bad boys you cant do anything to them. If you make them liable for damages, then either everyone's electricity bills go up by like 500%, or they end up so financially devastated that they definitely wont be able to mitigate fires in 2019 and even more people die when it turns out prevention funds had to go towards funeral costs and home reconstruction. They've been diversifying in to the dude weed and vaporizers lately. Who knows how they'll manage in future. Macro isn't my wheelhouse. It does appear to be priming for a bounce at some point though. The way the chart currently looks you'd think they were on the brink of going bankrupt.
I have this on shortlist for potential swings in the coming week. Just waiting to see a little more buying around the lows. Today was pretty good in that regard with buying starting midday right up in to close.

I like timber REIT's. A lot of them were mooning when they realized they could make more money selling off the real estate when they harvest the timber than replanting the timber farm. I couldn't find the one I used to track and I can't remember the name of it, I guess it merged or got bought out by someone. Weyerhauser is a popular one.
Timber reits are probably a very safe and profitable long term play.

Use a stop loss, frendo. The dude weed will rip you apart if you don't. It's still at least a couple years away from the point where any of these companies can be expected to turn out reliable revenue quarter over quarter, and probably another couple years beyond that before the stocks start to behave like established companies rather than speculative memes.

Looks like the old company I was looking for was called Plum Creek Timber. Apparently they strategically merged with Weyerhauser a few years ago.
