Hey biz I have been thinking about 3D printing. There are some printers around 200-300$ which I am willing to give like Ender 3.
After that I read about sites where you can advertise that you have a 3d printer and people that don't have a 3d can order stuff.
Is this even working.
I have a 9-5 job so I can't really dedicate ton of time for dedicated marketing and sites. Especially with one printer.
Anyone has experince with this kind of stuff?

Make some figurines or some shit. They are usually way overpriced because of their niche market.

Cheap 3D printers make horrible quality things and take forever to make. I made a 5” mini bust of myself 2 years ago in high school and it took 10 hours.

There are industrial quality 3d printers too. But they are at least 10x the price he is aiming for.

I checkout out my local area one to see it, last summer I check, that printer behind that guy was listed at 25k. uses 2 seperate materials ABS/+support material.
I can short the supply of anime figurines which are over priced I guess.
But if this user is right they will be bad quality and I will need to color them too.

There some printers that are even 100k I am sure they are awesome and I will get orders with one of those.
What I was I hoping was to start printing sonething before work come to it being done and ship it. And get some side income.
I don't mind a 25k printer but I have to get to that amount and scope
that printer is overpriced desu, just custom enclosed dual material support that you can get around 2k-3k for a reliable machine.. lulzbot taz or the prusa i3 if you want reliability. out of the box. the cheaper chinese-sub 500, just need to do more diy and tweaks to get it right.

Yeah I don’t know how he plans on using $200-$300 printers when my school had $1k+ printers making trash. Pic is something I BS’d in class for a grade. We were supposed to take a week and a half to design a cookie cutter and I made this shit on the last day.
Nvm I made this on the cheaper mini 3D printer, not the bigger one. I made the mini bust on the bigger 3D printer.

It was the schools property and I already graduated. They allow anybody to access it after school if you’re willing to pay the cost of materials though.
I wish I still had it. I lost every project (T-shirt, custom vinyl, cookie cutter, keychain, mini bust, and a couple other things) I made in that class in the last 2 years. I lost the pictures too since they were on my school email/google drive and the district deletes your account 4 months after you graduate.

the problem is that no one has a clue on how to make the 3d files
i've offered to print stuff to the people i know but noone got around because of that problem
so i just use it for myself when i construct stuff or random cool stuff like 3d scanning myself and then making plastic busts, printing physical keys, etc.
