>Buy spices by the kilo
>Sell by the gram on ebay for ten times the price
I'm thinking i'll import them from some third world country and undercut other sellers, or just advertise them 'better'.
Alright, so why not? Everything fails. Everything is already done to death and there's no hope. Out of curiosity though, why specifically is this going to fail?
Buy spices by the kilo
Just try it Yolo man
yeah i ordered scales, bags and a few kilos of various things... but something will go wrong for sure because everything inescapably does and i'm eternally doomed to fail, I just wondered if anyone could break down approximately how this is going to fuck me over.
e.g. What happens if Pajeet sells me star anise with spiceAIDS? Do I get to go to prison?
I got a better idea and its new age medicine. Im figuring 200% markup and loads of consumers wanting my product just a matter of me getting off my ass and doing it.
look up regulations. you'll have to comply with food safety
thanks user, this is what will fuck me. good to know why this won't work.
here goes regardless.
>I'm thinking i'll import them from some third world country
why even bother? just find the cheapest white powder you can find, probably just some baking soda or some shit. dye it with various food colorings
>kilo
>he uses metric
Kys eurofag
probably shipping might be a thing. where do you live? what market are you trying to crack? what spices? also sri lanka has the best spices most likely. use the name ceylon or w.e to sound like you know your shit. also, whats the competition like? if you can, buy non grounded up spices, grind them your self and then sell only if its sold. spices lose their "spice" if grounded up. ever had fresh ground black pepper vs those dog shit in paper bags? night and day.
>thinks only europe uses metric
>when there's literally only a single country in the world which is backwards enough to not use it
do you really think you'll have an edge importing spice when there are already much bigger companies with better infrastructure doing so?
all you need is some retarded gimmick, possibly one that targets women (because women are idiots and spend all their money for lifestyle bullshit). create some kind of artful, trendy hipster bullshit packaging with flowery lettering and the word ORGANIC littered all over and i guarantee some dumb cunt will buy it for twice the price.
>retarded gimmick
yeah this is what i'm hoping, literally just a meme advert making things more attractive.
i was also thinking maybe i'd take gordon ramsay's recipes, put all the spices for a particular recipe in one bag with a picture of his face on it, and sell it for 50 times as much. i don't think selling the ingredients necessary for his recipes would quite constitute copyright infringement.
i was also thinking about calling everything organic. i mean it's from some field in pajeetistan, who the hell is gonna know.
a website of my own too, something more memeful than ebay. words like "finest" and "special" everywhere. premium A+ salt and gay shit like that. i'm fairly good at memeing, so i'm hoping that might give me an edge. pretentious packaging too. and maybe, i dunno, free entry in a draw to win something which doesn't exist. i dunno. i feel like i've a chance of it working initially before i inevitably end up in prison for multiple reasons as is the case inescapably when attempting to make money in 2019.
gonna give this a shot. i mean scales cost me pocket change, i have little plastic bags and envelopes, i have something like a decade and a half of impeccable ebay feedback and fuck man, some listings on ebay sell like 5 grams of some gay herb for say $1, and 10 grams for literally $1.10.
There's money to be made here i think.
see you all in prison. i'll be the dude who stinks like a curry house.
HIMALAYAN ROCK SPICE
Selling spice is stupid
Start a spice-selling MLM
Godspeed on your endeavor user, these are the kinds of posts that keep me coming back to /biz. Its a clever racket for sure. Once you have your payment gateway set up, consider paying Facebook for targeted marketing. You can sell tons of this shit consistently, to the right people.
you can't use his likeness desu. gordon will get mad
>Organic
Organic is a USDA regulated term. Each violation (each piece labeled and sold) has up to an $11k fine.
If you sell too much you will eventually have to have a licensed kitchen, bet it yours or rented, (zoning license if it's your own home), business license and health inspections. Cottage laws should cover you for low-income ventures.
Spices are not immune to foodborne illness, salmonella likely being the greatest risk. If you get people sick and they are able to trace it back to you, you will be held responsible. Buying from sources where wiping shit with their bare hands is not a good start.
I like your idea of pre-made spice mixes, I think it has a lot of potential. Boomers loved garbage spice mixes, so if you can target hipsters/zoomers with 'artisan' spice blends w/recipes you'll be selling like mad. Double down and meme harder by selling monthly spice subscription boxes.
This is actually a good fkn idea
I’m not going to help talk you out of your idea, user. Good for you for pushing on the walls and thinking. Good luck fren
Hehe this will never work. What a stupid idea. Please delete this thread
