It amazes me how much time biz has taken to realize that Witnet exists. The technology is really similar to Chainlink. This usually happens when projects are open source. And no, Chainlink has no first mover advantage at all because now, it’s only a test net on ethereum, and still has a lot of work to do. First, and probably the most important, the service aggrement, which it’s not even started (0 tasks finished on “collect and agreegate” on pivotal, and the team can’t even finish a very simple wip on github). Witnet has the service aggrement ready to go, you can run a node and try how good it works on the testnet now. Another really good fact about Witnet network is they are also blockchain agnostic: “The Witnet protocol connects smart contracts to any online data source. Sport results, stock prices, weather forecasts or even other blockchains”. Main net, according to the team, will be released this year, probably by may-june.
In summary: ·Decentralized oracle network ·Test Net with aggregation ready ·Main net on may-june 2019 ·The node operators get paid ·Consensus to choose the most reliable data ·Allows Smart Contracts to connect with any API and even any other blockchain (blockchain agnostic) ·Allows Smart Contracts to connect with any data which it's not in APIs
Sounds pretty good, so I’ve just run a node on the Witnet Network. Now on the test net you can use some oracles related to Sports, AI, Events and others. So, my first node worked with data about the Arsenal-Manchester united FA Cup match on 25/1. It included: which teams played, what the result was, and how much goals did Lukaku (Manchester United player) score. To collect and aggregate all this information, I connected via Verity to the Bet365 API, the Premier League Live Scores API, the TalkSports API and the William Hill API. And obviously, the results were simply brilliant. Once the matches ended, the Smart Contract
Witnet sucks though because it's not an API and the differences in their product make it inferior to Chinklink even if they are first.
Jonathan Miller
> not an API
You shouldn't be allowed to discuss oracles anymore.
Ryder Clark
I'm sorry you don't understand Witnet
Parker Fisher
BUY WITNET SIRS
Andrew Roberts
How? What is the ticker? Ill go buy it and post proof right now.
Adam Richardson
They haven’t even done ico yet according to their website.
Unlike shit link, they took the time to build a working product first
Hudson Parker
Are they going to do one though? I was told it wasn't even in the works, at least not one we can buy into, which makes link look like an even bigger pile of dog shit.
Brayden Powell
this kills the stinkie, but this time unironically.
Ryan Young
>shitnet No thanks poojeet
Michael Jones
Looks like they picked this guy up from the nearest dominos pizza joint.
Thomas Harris
Ah yes mobius 2.0
David Hughes
Indeed. Chainlink is more like shitlink compared to witnet
Christopher Flores
Pathetic, just bought 100k
Ryan Garcia
When some discord group decide to suddenly mass shill some Oracle shitcoin because they saw link gains last 6 months. Whats worse is that you guys are actually going to fool some biztards. Does it get more obvious with the timing on these shit threads?
Matthew Richardson
There is no coin to shill. Just a working product from out of nowhere. Compare that with link's empty hands after 18 months of promises, one sole developer, and multiple fireside all you can eat buffets.
Jaxson Foster
Seriously guys, biz has been shilling link for 1.5 years and noone realized that witnet existed until now? How fucking retarded can you be? There are chainlink competitors everywhere. Not just witnet or mobius or aeternity or augur. There are plenty of other companies trying to build the same decentralized system which haven't ico'd yet. They are building a product first. How do you guys not realize that the first decentralized oracle competitor to get their product out will likely win. The other solutions will lose because the first mover advantage is no joke in crypto. Chainlink is far behind in terms of mainnet and concensus mechanism development. I hate to say it but Chainlink is likely dead in the water. Im selling almost all of my chainlink tokens for some more eth and other alts with better potential and fewer competitors. 98% of biz is officially pic related
Bizlets are going to be utterly btfo by link. I feel really bad for anyone whose hopes for the future are riding on this shitty token.
Samuel Jenkins
If they're not gonna do an ICO why discuss WITNET at all?
Luke Mitchell
Because they are competing with a certain project that everyone is so sure is a sure thing and they are working faster.
Jayden Taylor
kassemg? this is bullish
Gavin Gutierrez
Will they at least have stocks?
Isaac Turner
That's the mystery of it all. They pop up and rek the most shilled coin's shit, and they haven't asked us for a penny... almost like a real company, or something, they're building the value proposition first and then, presumably, going to sell access. A brilliant scheme for crypto: run it like every other business in history, instead of crowdfunding fireside chats and vaporware.
Easton Lewis
this. A honest man created a business on his own time and dime. Meanwhile Sergey took millions and delivered shit.
Well he delivered the same canned speech 5 years in a row and stutters through it to this day. I guess 32m doesn't buy you much these days jej
Juan Sanders
>same speech for 5 years >still stutters through it hey man some of us can relate (still fuck him)
Colton Bailey
There is not even anything to buy into, the whole point is to leverage linkies' post-fireside-chat despondency to try to loosen a few last hands. That's all it is. Nobody would have tried discussing this last week when LINK was pumping or next week when LINK invariably is pumping again, because it would go against market sentiment and swingers are trying to magnify the highs and the lows, not nullify them.
There is always a reason a good or bad news story hits when it does is all I'm saying.
Matthew Turner
Yes, a venture backed firm building a working product and delivering a usable test version, with no ico scam crowdfunding, is actually an elaborate plot to swingtrade a 2 man operation shitcoin coin named after the stuff in aisle three of home depot. Clearly Blockchain-Groucho is the emperor from star wars, and he's looking to double his link stack.
William Hill
We had threads about Witnet when we first found out about it and made fun of it for being a total joke because the head dev Pablo Garcia Sanchez had shit about playing the ukulele in his bio. You wouldn't know about that though because you've only been here since December.
Jordan Williams
They’re going to do a pre-mine it’s their own chain
Andrew Mitchell
I think there are some people that are actually nervous they really don’t know but I’m selves and they make these threads to see if other people are thinking the same thing because the truth is nobody fucking knows
That’s pretty simple: if you have doubts about what project (Chainlink or Witnet) is the best, just go and run a node. It’s so fucking easy unless you are an absolutely retard. Chainlink nodes work nice BUT now the system is centralized. Why? Because the damn service agreement, which like the OP’s pasta says it’s not even started! Witnet already has this fucking service agreement, but the testnet has been launched only a few days ago, so they also have a lot of work to do, but now it seems like the first mover advantage is for Witnet.
Commendable marine, but desu I don’t think anyone is falling for this flavor of the week fud anyways. Its too obvious
John Green
And there we have it. Absolutely fucking rinsed.
Julian Baker
That's what I thought until I saw the dump yesterday. Of course it could be the pajeet pnders that were trying to time the sell with fud, while maybe everyone actually did hodl through it, so who knows.
Jonathan Russell
Unironically can’t take the fud anymore frens, I’m dumping all my linkies
Oliver Collins
Holy shit... Witnet was the real stealth project...
Ian Turner
It's also not taking into account other advantages link has like the domain name, the deep ic3 connections, the swift pedigree, all the partners already confirmed, the army of neets running nodes and projects like linkpool... Being in San Francisco rather than Spain, already connected to and endorsed by all the top players in the field. The first mover advantage isn't even real, their mainnet is still a year away.
Carter Ross
no ridiculous mime mustache attached to the project
David Campbell
We have IDs here, you fucking idiot.
Nicholas Taylor
where I can buy it?
Lucas Lewis
you cant. they are very anti decentralization. only accredited investors and vc funding were sought
Jason Smith
Borat does not understand decentralised oracles. Can anyone please explain them? They are good not or good? Yes?
