Forks vs Tokens vs SKYCOIN

The projects most likely to be scams are tokens and forks.

Tokens (as opposed to coins) are crypto projects that launch on somebody else’s blockchain—for example ERC20 tokens on the Ethereum blockchain or NEP-5 tokens on the NEO blockchain. It requires absolutely no blockchain expertise to create a token. Anyone can do it, in just a few minutes. So it’s very easy for scammers to quickly create a token and a fancy white paper, and then deceive naive investors into believing it’s a genuine project.

Forks are essentially copies of another blockchain, with a new name, and either a slight modification to the code or sometimes no significant changes at all. Again, it takes very little skill to fork a blockchain and to promote it along with a convincing-looking white paper. New forks and tokens pop up every day, and often the creators/developers are anonymous, which further increases the probability that these projects are scams.

In contrast, the projects least likely to be scams are those that demonstrate these characteristics:

1. Has developed its own blockchain
2. Has a known and visible team
3. Has established longevity
4. Has a working product

Some of Skycoin’s working products are listed below.

1. Skycoin—a lightning fast currency, with free transactions, and privacy/anonymity via the CoinJoin protocol

2. Software wallets—elegantly designed desktop/mobile wallets for Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS and Android

3. Hardware wallets—highly secure, and available at a fraction of the price of competing Trezor/Ledger/KeepKey models

4. Skyminers—can be purchased from Skycoin or built DIY, with almost 10,000 nodes already deployed globally

5. Coin Hours—earned by holding Skycoin in a wallet, and used to purchase services on the Skycoin ecosystem

6. Skycoin CX—a comprehensive programming language for creating games, apps and smart contracts

7. Skycoin Fiber—a platform for launching ICOs whereby each project is given its own dedicated blockchain

8. Skywire—a global decentralized peer-to-peer mesh network of interconnected Skyminer hardware nodes

9. Antennas—due for release in Q1 2019, enabling Skywire nodes to connect wirelessly and bypass ISPs

10. Online stores—making it easy for users to purchase Skycoin hardware and Skycoin-branded merchandise

11. KittyCash—a blockchain collectibles game that improves upon Ethereum’s infamous CryptoKitties game

Skycoin’s first flagship application, Skywire, moves from testnet to mainnet this quarter, after which the number of deployed Skyminer nodes is expected to grow from thousands, to hundreds of thousand, and then to millions within a few years. Second generation plug-and-play Skyminers are in development, which will further accelerate adoption. Skyminer nodes are rewarded with payments in Skycoin and Coin Hours for providing bandwidth, storage, and computing power to other users of the Skywire network. Skywire also functions as a fast and secure VPN/proxy service.

But Skywire is just one of the many applications running on the Skycoin ecosystem.

As the year progresses, we will see more and more games and apps being developed and released on Skycoin CX, which also transitions to mainnet this quarter (meaning full integration of CX with the Skycoin blockchain). Several basic games have already been developed, but adoption will increase even more rapidly following the recent publication of books on CX development, and with CX education courses becoming available in colleges.

Not content with two mainnets, Skycoin is going for the hat trick. The Skycoin blockchain is currently running on protected masternodes, and the public launch of Skycoin’s groundbreaking consensus algorithm, Obelisk, will round out this years ‘triple mainnet’ for the Skycoin project. Obelisk makes Proof of Work and Proof of Stake consensus algorithms obsolete, and is the biggest breakthrough in blockchain consensus for the past decade.

Additionally, with the upcoming release of the eagerly awaited Skywire antennas, Skycoin’s prominence in the non-crypto world will explode as users start to install these highly visible antennas on their rooftops. Local businesses are expected to spring up, helping to install Skyminers and antennas as residents rush to access this new free decentralized Internet service, and say goodbye to their overpriced and unreliable legacy ISPs.

Yes, Skycoin is legit, but fudders gonna fud.

Definitely a top 20 coin this year, maybe top 20.

I mean maybe top 10

Skyminers and antennas are designed in a modular fashion, so they can be built by anyone, using readily available low-cost components. This ensures that even the poorest and most remote villages on earth can build the equipment necessary to join the world’s first global decentralized peer-to-peer mesh network. Skywire will bring cheap Internet access to parts of the world with little or no traditional communications infrastructure.

With mass adoption of Skywire, the Coin Hours economy will also take off. Coin Hours are earned at the rate of one Coin Hour per hour for every Skycoin held in a wallet. They are also earned by running a Skyminer node. A Coin Hours Bank and Coin Hours Exchange are due to launch this quarter, which will enable Coin Hours to be saved or traded for more Skycoin. An entire working economy will emerge around Coin Hours, with this currency being used to pay for resources on the Skywire network, pay for services within Skycoin games and apps, and even pay for real-world goods and services. Coin Hours will also be listed on mainstream cryptocurrency exchanges.

Speaking of exchanges, Skycoin is developing its own DEX (Decentralized Exchange). The SKYDEX will support the trading of Skycoin, Coin Hours, and Skycoin Fiber coins, as well as other leading cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum.

Furthermore, John McAfee, the famous blockchain advocate who is running to become the next United States president, has selected Skycoin as his official technology partner. We can expect to see the merits of Skywire—freedom, decentralization and net neutrality—promoted heavily during his “McAfee2020” election campaign.

John McAfee isn’t the only big name to recognize Skycoin’s potential. Cryptocurrency exchange Binance lists Skycoin as one of their Gold Label projects, and has also established a strategic cooperation agreement with the Skycoin project. Furthermore, Skycoin technology has been recognized by the United Nations as a potential solution to world poverty, inequality and hunger.

Thank you for this informative post. Once I finally get my alimony payed off, I’ll buy some Skycoin. Let me give you a word of advice fellas. Password encrypt everything.

How much Skycoin do I need to make it by the end of 2020???

Conservatively, 10,000 SKY will easily make you a millionaire by the end of 2020. Skycoin's previous ATH was $50, and it will undoubtedly double that or more in the next bull run.

Optimistically, 1000 SKY might even be enough. Skycoin could certainly reach $1000+ per coin with mass global adoption.

It would be wise to hold 1K Skycoin now as suicide insurance.

Thanks bro, I can only afford 500 right now but it’s a start, might add more later

How do I enter the Skycoin airdrop? Do I really need a twitter account. Twitter sucks balls, they shadowbanned my account.

Skycoin is one node on synths laptop

Skywire doesn’t work
They are selling antennas without the software even working

I'm skynancially ruined because of this scam

No other coin has been fudded the way Skycoin has. Attacks on Skycoin consistently either misrepresent how blockchain technology works, or resorts to absurd ad hominem attacks against it's community. I have never seen a project so absolutely BTFO the spurious attacks made against it. The clowns who attack Skycoin do so because they fear it, and those who follow their lead mindlessly do so because they lack the ability to direct their own behavior. The price of Skycoin will eventually rise to a level that reflects the achievements it continues to build upon, permanently placing it among the very top of crypto projects.

irrefutable incontrovertible legitimate fud

No other coin has blatantly scammed people as outrageously or as frequently as Skycoin, either. It’s not FUD when you simply state truths about this Scientology-tier scam, Synth.

It's literally the worst coin that gets shilled here. It doesn't even meet the basic requirements of being a working cryptocurrency, after more than 5 years in "development" 5 FUCKING YEARS WITH NO CONSENSUS ALGO LMFAO

its more centralized than ripple if thats even possible

Your fud is outdated. The newest version says the entire Skycoin blockchain runs on an old wooden abacus in Synth's bedroom. Try to keep up.

Attached: Skycoin-NPCs.jpg (2776x1694, 941K)

I built a DIY Skyminer and now I’m earning Skycoin’s every month. I paid zero money to Skycoin yet they’re giving me $SKY that I can sell for money. Not sure how I’m getting scammed here. Wish all scams paid me like this!

Is this before or afte he eats his own dick?

How do you think he will do it? Sushimi? Deep fried? Baked with fresh herbs?

The Skycoin cryptocurrency works beautifully, whether you're using it on Linux, PC, Mac, iOS or Android. Wallet-wallet transfers go through in about 3 seconds, and they're free. The blockchain is currently running on protected masternodes, plus everyone with a wallet has a full copy of the blockchain. It will become more decentralized with the official launch of Obelisk this year. You can watch Synth discuss Obelisk below.

He says he's contracting it out to a team of high-class prostitutes who will slowly devour it over many years.

Attached: SKYTHOT.jpg (1136x1197, 278K)

Based and redpilled. Just bought 1000 Skycoin. Unironically, on Binance. Buying Skycoin sub $1 is literally stealing. We are so lucky to be able to accumulate this low.

Ver interesting. Most projects have produced a white paper. Holochain also produced a cool CGI render of a ‘holoport’ thingy. Does Skycoin have either of those?

Skycoin has multiple white papers for various aspects of the project - Skycoin, Fiber, CX, Obelisk, Skywire etc.

Plus actual real physical deployed hardware, not just holochain-style 3D renders.

Attached: Skycoin-Photo-Grid.jpg (2372x1766, 986K)

Where’s the best place to buy Skycoin? Binance?

There’s a fiat gateway at Skycoin.net where you can buy using credit card. Binance is an option too, but make sure you transfer to your own wallet to accumulate the Coin Hours.

Most other projects (especially ERC20 tokens) are imploding, exit-scamming, or have simply stopped developing because they've run out of funds during this bear market. But Skycoin continues to push out more hardware and software products. 9500+ Skyminers now deployed around the world. Desktop, iOS and Android wallets. Hardware wallets and antennas (what other crypto project produces so much hardware?). Plus partnerships with Binance and 2020 US presidential candidate John McAfee.

Attached: Skycoin-Components.jpg (1198x1778, 565K)

What’s a realistic price for Skycoin by the end of this year. Unironically thinking about going all in.

Attached: IMG_0407.jpg (1861x9784, 2.19M)

Unless you're part of the team you probably haven't broke even yet. Post your figures
>masternodes
Masternode. Singular.

Is holding skyvoin a good way to male money if this takes off or are you really required to buy a miner?

If you were required to buy a skyminer then you should wonder why anons claim to build their own without paying a dime to Skycoin and still receive Skycoins. see

I got a good idea for you. You guys should ban warosu from the internet before going after Skycoin. That way it will be alot harder to

warosu.org/biz/thread/S12448914#p12450553

Attached: 12450553.jpg (1823x258, 64K)

You cant have "consensus" with only one node genius.

I know its not required to buy a skyminer but would you make more money buying and holfing skycoin with the money you could use to buy a skyminer. Tgen just mining a skyminer?

>Masternode. Singular.
Masternodes. Plural.

Attached: SkyminerHand.jpg (640x640, 79K)

>ooga booga booga wooga
Learn to read code brainful?

Well if you buy and hold now and it goes back to it's previous ATH you've made 50X your investment.

Plus you'll be accumulating Coin Hours which will soon be tradeable for more Skycoin when they open the Coin Hours bank.

Attached: Skycoin-Ecosystem.jpg (3184x2374, 1.92M)

>skyminer
>a masternode
It gives no consensus rights. S*Y shilling is jewish tong twisting gone mad.

I’m all in, have to hide that 65B somehow boys. Tell Synth I’ll visit sometime.

Skyminers are not consensus nodes yet. But when Obelisk is released then every Skyminer can set aside one of its eight nodes to act as a consensus node if it wants to, although it will require a larger SD card to be installed in that node to store the whole blockchain.

Attached: Skywire_Map_of_American_Nodes.png (1200x739, 282K)

>has a known an visible team

Skycoin literally doesn’t have this. Apart from synth who can you name as devs etc? The ‘team’ page is literally just synth and then some dude called Chen who doesn’t even have a photo and it’s not even clear if he’s still part of it.

>in the next bull run.

Reminder that any coin that relies on ‘the next bullrun’ to moon is a shitcoin with no intrinsic value.

Why so sky supporters all seem to display schizophrenic symptoms. One would think that it's just a stereotype, but it seems true every time. The schizophrenic, especially paranoid schizophrenia, symptom seem to burst out of every post they make.

Attached: sky86.jpg (474x248, 34K)

After 5 yeara in ‘development’ obelisk still doesn’t exist and there is no evidence that it exists. No publicly viewable code anywhere. If the code is going to be proprietary (hidden) then that makes Skycoin centralised which means they’re lying about being decentralised. So either it’s a scam because they’re lying about having a consensus algo or it’s a scam because they’re lying about being decentralised.

Just bought 1000 sky quite literally right before reading your post. you definitely don't need 10k to make it if sky hits a market cap in the billions which is guaranteed if they gain traction.

Known members of the team, aside from Synth, include Steve Leonard, Daken Freeborn, Hamza, Ed Vilderman, Danish Chaudry, and Drew MacGibbon. There's a major update of the website underway to include much more detail about the extended team. For videos and presentations by some of the other guys listed above, check out these links...

100% agree OP, by the way Nimiq fits the bill entirely.

Attached: Nimiqcutie2.jpg (480x640, 169K)

The fact that there's so many horrible memes for sky seems to look like the community tries to eject a fault project.

Attached: 1545135784648.jpg (236x208, 10K)

There was also no evidence of Skyminers, hardware wallets, Skywire, CX, antennas, iOS wallet, Android wallet, desktop wallets, games, physical coins, Skycoin-branded merchanise, fiat gateway, Binance listings, Fiber projects/coins etc etc etc.

Until those things were all released. And now there is evidence of all these things.

The Obelisk code won't be hidden after release, obviously, because anyone will be able to run it. It's hidden right now so pajeets don't copy it or try to copyright/trademark it (first to file) before Skycoin is ready to release it.

Attached: KittyCash.jpg (1200x1200, 155K)

Is sky design copyable in such a short manner? Do you mean that the network has no value whatsoever because it can just be all copied. Why do you think SKY has no value?

This. Skywire basically ready according to their Telegram (just waiting to launch with the antennas). Consensus mainnet is to follow.

Attached: IMG_0381.png (324x195, 62K)

>believe us, after 7 years of failed promises and scammery

Everything has been on schedule. 2019 is the year of three mainnets. 7 years development, now months away from completion and you're acting like this now?

Enjoying your little petty dance in front of the newbie investor? He won't buy your blatant lies.

Any blockchain can be forked (copied). It's software.

But the infrastructure, hardware, integrations, marketing, employees, developers, partnerships and user-base can't be copied.

There are dozens of Bitcoin forks. Most of them worthless because most forks are scams.

There will definitely be Skycoin forks. Many of them, no doubt about it. But they'll need large teams of people to to put in many years of work to come anywhere close to what Skycoin has already developed. There's already a scammy Chinese fork that has tried to copy some of Skycoin's publicly released code, but they lack the skills to get it running (it's just another scam).

Skycoin's lead will be too great for anyone to catch up.

Attached: Skycoin-Partnerships.jpg (2198x2370, 888K)

>literally 7 years of development
>project owners cashing out like madmen
>'It's a secrit. Can't show what we are doing.'
It's obvious it's a long-running scam. Nobody that thinks this is legit has a more than room temperature IQ

LOL, is this an attempt at fud? It's just gibberish.

Attached: Skycoin-Grandpa.jpg (800x450, 65K)

Attached: e6da6618a14ff7f285bb6ba754a544d7.jpg (236x243, 17K)

sir please stop shilling sky I am NOT done accumulating. Thanks.

What the fuck are you talking about.
The skycoin "network" is validated by ONE NODE. By definition there is no consensus. Does an excel spreadsheet have "consensus" you fucking brainlet

Post evidence to back up your tired old fud please sir. I’m guessing you’re the type of gentleman who invests in ERC20 tokens, am I right?

The absolute state of NoSkycoiners.

Same. Buying Skycoin for 90 cents literally feels like stealing.

It’s gonna go a lot lower than that senpai. Reminder that when I told you all it was heading to a dollar you all laughed.

What exactly are you taking offense to? Skycoin running on a masternode is public knowledge. There is no consensus. The masternode validates transactions to see whether they fall within the defined rule set.
