>I'm new to the stock market, what stocks should I buy? Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.
calling it: its gonna sound iffy, then SPY is gonna go parabolic into close for absolutely no reason, and then big boys will put on some smol (relatively speaking) shorts way late in AH r8

she needs a taller shirt desu looks cold

about $4100 from my div portfolio then about $16K in both divs and cap gains from my mutual funds. But those only come in June and December (with December being over half).
Therefore I set up a dividend calendar of all the individual stocks I want to own and will have decent income in each month. Its more of a psychological thing, but I did outpace the S&P 500 last year. Real test will be how it does during the next bull run, but my core stocks are Dogs of the Dow for 2019 so I think they'll be good.

Shorting AMD is starting to get really tempting here.
Adrian Reed
unironically lmaoing @ bears
Tyler Bell
how do you feel about stocking up on telecom, since 5g will be implemented in the near future? Do you think 5g is already priced into stocks like T and VZ?
Guys I got some cash to spend. Only have one bluechip dividend stock (MSFT) so I wanna buy another one. Vz or k ? Or do you suggest something different.
Ok, this day is going too well I can only assume Powell is going to obliterate my asshole

i'm one who thinks 5G will be transformative for the economy in a meaningful way.
I believe ATT and Verizon will be different companies due to the paths their traveling but both will benefit and be at the forefront of it all. Which is why I own both stocks. I also got a small position in Nokia (NOK) based on their work with 5G.
Jaxson Baker
*Adjusts glasses* Due to the recent market recovery, we think we can get back on track with the normalisation and the unwind.
Nothing on 5G is priced in since nobody knows if its actually going to pan out on the large scale at this point. We really only have proof of concepts in ideal testing environments. On top of that we have no idea if everyone is going to hop on board with redesigning their towns and cities so that 5G networks can optimally work. So putting money into telecoms for 5G is basically gambling, but thats what makes it fun.
exactly this desu the only "good news" we can look for in powpows speech is this
Michael Perez
My guess is they hike now and issue an effectively "maybe" for the second hike later this year. That is in line with previous tone from Powell. The going theory is he wants to hike quick so there is room to move down if shit gets properly fugged in near future. Biz media claiming low probability of hike are being too optimistic.
Anthony Young
are you fucking retarded or something?
Carter Young
I'm being serious
Jose Scott
>Biz media claiming low probability of hike are being too optimistic. this its a trap
Adam Morgan
For the same reason a good parent makes a child eat their vegetables and go to sleep at a decent hour.
Brody Parker
>why not inflate all the monies forever? think harder then, senpai
Liam Murphy
1. Can't lower them further if a major economic downturn hits, which would be done to lessen the blow 2. Encourages risky behavior 3. Don't want to overheat the economy 4. Doesn't incentivize people to save money
Adam Reed
eventually you'll get 100000% inflation and destroy society
Thomas Roberts
+ the inflation component, which results in an overheating economy. they want steady growth, not spurts of it with a follow-up recession
Henry Cooper
you will need 7-9% return to stay on float pension funds. it looks like they are already too late to raise to save the penions are going bust
like i said, if they increase their dividend for 10 years, maybe even 5, i'll look into it. until then, I'll go with one of the most proven stocks of all time. I have mutual fund advisors looking after my growth portfolio, I don't have time or the experience to speculate or research those types of companies.
Cooper Cruz
thank you based nio
Thomas Garcia
what would happen to TUP if oil goes on another run tho? wouldnt they be fucked? or would the subsequent scale-up of petroleum production counteract this?
if youre goin uber long term on em, shouldnt this be an important factor to think on? i doubt oil is just gonna stay down here forever
Austin Lee
if u mean 55/b, we're basically there now
if u mean 75/b, then ur gonna have to wait
you know you can hedge oil price exposure in various ways, including buying it
Hudson Gutierrez
This. Kinda stinks of 4G "WiMax," you know, the shit S dumped billions into just to beat LTE to the market. The problem was you needed tons of towers. Just like 5G. I'm not saying this shit isn't going to work, but don't forget that LTE is actually 4G.1.
Gavin Harris
>and when we needed LCIguy the most, he was nowhere to be found
Jeremiah Jenkins
sure, im just saying in the next ten years i expect oil to BTFO 75/b. may not be the best buy and hold 4eva if that happens imo
Nicholas Foster
*Waits for Jim Cramer to stop screaming incoherently*
But really, to Rick's point, Wall Street was looking at his face, his tone, the way he put those words out there, to really give us some sense of direction. We were looking at a 47% chance of a rate hike going into today, and based on Powell's blinking, stuttering, quite frankly the look of fear in his eyes, investors know he isn't comfortable with this move. The market drop should have been obvious in hindsight.
Mason Campbell
>Market up above 1% >VIX only down 2%
Something is fishy. Investors are still willing to pay exorbitant prices for options. Probably because of backstabbing Chinese. They might flake last second on trade deal to fuck Trump over.
Noah Ramirez
SQQQ puts looking juicier then ever
Aaron James
I don't think an increase of oil to 75/b over several years will do anything to dent TUP's MASSIVE cashflow. you will only have to worry about oil prices for fueling your yacht(s) or private jet(s) if you go all in on TUP now
Gabriel Morales
What does your dividend portfolio look like? I just started and I'm putting part of my paycheck into vanguard ETFs, but what else beyond that?
Cooper Cooper
Basdd, what's your annual yield from divs?
Zachary Baker
He posted yesterday saying he sold everything.
Evan Watson
I don't believe you. LCIguy wouldn't do that
Anthony Smith
sounds like a surefire way of getting fucked imho
Lucas Walker
Yeah... I bought in at $25, it was getting too painful when I saw the $3.33 print. Unloaded on this recent bounce.....
Do it, I dare you, I remember the short squeeze to 30 :) Boomer:WAS PUMPING THE MARKET A PART OF YOU PLAN?! Powell:of course! Boomer:well congratulations, you pumped the market! What's the next step of you masterplan? Powell:CRASHING THIS MARKET, WITH NO SURVIVORS!
It was just some shitposter impersonating him (his password is openly known)
Jaxson Wright
I'm bullish on AMD but this seems a bit overdone. Haven't pulled the trigger on a short but thinking about it. If so I'd like to see it break under $21 and sell around $20.50.
Charles Jones
Don't see any news that could prompt a market recovery. So I guess this is volatility and uncertainty in mention. I will buy back in when the dust settles
