ITT: We post things that make normies/NPCs stay poor.

Eating fast food or going to restaurants and not cooking.
Not buying things in bulk and at discount.
Not using deals and coupons.
Going to bars and clubs.
Drinking soda every day.
Not paying bills on time and getting late fees.
Tipping too much, even for bad service.

What are some others?

Well left on this pic. Hot as fuck.

Everything you said, and what eventually will be said in this thread, can be summed up as boomer-consumerism.
Normies are ingrained with these ideas on what they're 'supposed to do' to lead a happy life. They grew up watching their financially-irresponsible parents continually spend money on garbage. Be it shitty food, experiences, homes, etc. So they spend money in the same areas, because all their normie friends do the same shit.
Once you realize that this is an unimaginably dumb way to spend money, you can start building wealth.

Student loan debt since they only care about prestige and by that I mean they basically could have gotten the 1st 2 years for free.

Another is wasting money on rent instead of leeching off their parents so they can save up and gamble it all away on crypto

Free community college? Where?

Well, california is like that. It's called the pell grant and they pay for all your classes. Also eops pays for your books. You also get financial aid for that and you don't have to pay it back.

None of that stuff matters at all compared to the big tuna kahuna:

I have 3 supermarkets near me and have the ability to bargain shop. You'd be surprised but sometimes the cheaper items can be had at whole foods or wegmans (higher end supermarkets)

What is your process?

The Pell grant is a federal grant and is available to anybody with under 120 credit hours, no felony on your record and is income based.

If you claim yourself on your taxes, it's based on your income. If somebody else (parents or legal guardians) claim you, then it is based off their income.

google.com/amp/amp.aimseducation.edu/apply-pell-grant

Since it is a grant, you do not need to pay it back. The max Pell Grant for 2019 is $6,095. As stated above, it's based on your income (or the income of the person who claims you as a dependent). If you are poor, then you'll max out the $6k. The higher your income, potentially the less you'll get.

12 credit hours costs about $3000 at my local CC, so it would cover tuition for two semesters.

You can apply it tuition, loans and required items for a class. If you talk to a community college's financial aid department, they can give better clarity.

If you have to buy textbooks or other items required for class beyond the Pell Grant, you can write those off in taxes to reduce your federal tax liability. I believe you'll have to buy them through your school to be eligible and there's a limit as to how many years you can do it.

I think you'll have to apply for 2020 at this point.

Free college money is worth looking into.

Financing new cars, buying new cars for that matter.

I think if you have money and no debts it's still a better idea to buy someone's 2/3 year old car or even if someone just drove it off the lot and changed their mind.

Personally I can't find myself to spend over 10k on a car, if you're patient and have something in mind you'll always be able to find a private seller within a month (assuming you want some precise model/specs etc)

Enjoy.

Fuck that, used cars are not worth the hassle. New cars come with a warranty

I just visit each store about once a week and keep mental notes. The only thing I buy in whole foods is usually their mineral water (about a dollar per liter) and goat milk kefir. Wegmans has the best deals on raw meat in family size packages, 1.99 per pound for boneless chicken thighs or pork tenderloin, 2.50 for ground beef. Veggies I switch between ShopRite or wegmans as the prices for these is pretty variable and often have sales. I'll sometimes get Runa energy drinks from whole foods when it's either 2 for $4, sometimes for $3(2.79 shoprite, 2.50 Wegmans), and they discount an additional 10% for prime members on items already on sale, ON TOP of another 10% if you buy 12 of any item, which for the Runa I'll get like 24 for extra savings. But it's more of a treat.

The pell grant is pretty much given to anybody who fills out the fafsa in whatever amount they qualify for. Middle class kids get hardly shit. Even if you did take your $3000/semester and squeeze books and tuition out of it, no college worth transfering to is going to take your nameless community college credits.

> hehe I need validation and reinsurance from other pathetic suicidal NEETs by calling myself superior to every human being on planet earth that not browses this anonymous Bolivian vintage lawnmower restoration forum discussing heavily autistic “woke” practices that save me $14,64 the month

maybe it's different in US, but poor people I know here in eastern eu never go to restaurants and bars, never tip (who ever tips here? unless it's for doctor), they cook the meals from their own vegetables and animals they raised, they have stacks of promotional flyers and are signed for saving card in every market they frequent, they buy in bulk when they can (often directly from farmers, sometimes helping pick the potatoes from the field), they even cook their own fast food (pizza) on rare occasions they eat fast food... some of them even aren't alcoholics...

but they still make too little money, "save" on health/repairs until necessary, live with 3 generations of their family in one house in some rural area without good job prospects

New cars and trucks, new snowmobiles, atvs, motorcycles, might as well just burn your money. There were oilfield workers pulling in 300000/yr or more in alberta that could have retired comfy at 30 but spent all their money on toys and went bankrupt during the crash.

why do all girls hold their butts up like this?

>Bolivian vintage lawnmower restoration forum
I can't even be mad at you, that was too good.

True that middle class kids generally get shafted. It also depends on where you live. My local CC degree transfers to any four year state college in Illinois. There's also a program that works with the University of Illinois (good engineering, CS, Ag and vet programs) where you take classes at the CC and UI. First two years are at CC rates, but you get access to UI facilities.

Down in Texas, my local CCs were feeder schools to state colleges as well.

Interestingly enough, new Illinois high school grads who are lower to middle income, the University of Illinois is offering free four year tuition.

>he doesn't know how german cars break like clockwork when the warranty expires

I cant speak for every college but purdue doesnt even accept many of the credits earned through its satellite colleges. And the satellites dont accept many credits from other colleges in the area. I know several guys who have transferred only to end up with 160+ credit hours before graduating because previous courses either werent accepted toward the major or werent accepted at all.

Wegmans sounds like ALDI. Can anyone who knows both confirm?

no. wegmans is just another fancy grocery store chain. wish I had Aldi's out by me

>no college worth transfering to is going to take your nameless community college credits.
Completely wrong
1. Employers don't care about the prestige of the school
2. Idk about other states, but california has assist.org and basically, schools won't give a crap what community college you went to anyways as ling as the classes you took are deemed as worthy enough to count (and you check that with assist.org).
You could also get an AA-T degree in order to transfer to any calstate without needing to take extra classes.

But again, employers 99% of the time couldn't care less what school you graduated from. Like at all.

god i would unironically let the right one shit into my mouth

>secretly wants the same but is afraid of his own feelings

>1. Employers don't care about the prestige of the school
Thats demonstrably false by simply looking at average earnings of those who go to selective schools compared to those who graduate from community colleges.
>2. Idk about other states, but california has assist.org
Thats not how it works in Indiana and ive never heard of such a thing before so i doubt its widespread outside of California

>Spending 30€/month on Gym Membership
2 Dumbells, Running Shoes and a Pull up bar, you dont need more than that at home
+you only need half the time

They care about internships, not prestige from schools. That's just a fact. Going to a calstate is fine. Major matters WAAAAAAAAAY more than the school you went to.

And I can't comment on other states, just saying in california, schools only care about your gpa. They couldn't care less what CC you went to. I also find it extremely strange there isn't some "assist.org" thing for your state. There must be.
The reason I say this is because how in the world would you know what classes to take at a CC WITHOUT such a website? It doesn't make sense.

>Going to a calstate is fine
Well shit. That's california only.
Again tho, employers care more about experience than anything else.

You’re wrong there. Marriage generally is a big financial benefit, unless you were already living and sharing expenses with one or more people.

Having kids, though...

having kids doesn't have to be expensive. Plus it's rewarding. Everyone acts like it's some big burden but i love it

I'm scared.

Can confirm. It's rare, but Wegmans sometimes even beats Aldi for certain items. Those are my two main stores.
