breathe in and out, focus on breath

wouldn't that be boring? Can't imagine doing that for 1-2hrs

Focus on breath
no, the effects feel great

Meditation is a meme and has been proven not to work

Google fucker. or download headspace for the free trial and just get the idea from there.

you concentrate on one thing 100%. it’s actually very diffucult and exhausting

you do it to make your mind stop / help fall asleep

You realize free will is an illusion and you are merely an observer

What does a nigger do in jail? Does he just sit there and chill?

No you try to clear your mind and think about "nothing" but thinking about nothing is "something". Some people focus on their breathing until theyre just not focusing on anything. Another saying is that you put your mind in your belly.

what's the ideal duration? Just tried my first session but gave up after 30mins as it felt like FOREVER, thought I was doing something wrong

so if a person fails to think of nothing despite intending to do so does that mean he does not have full control of his will? like a jellyfish moving on impulses

dont do 30 mins
start with 5

say this in your head "ommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm" for as long as you meditate. this prevents your mind from wandering.

stare at a single point in space. after about 1 min everything will feel slightly shaky and relaxing. thats when youre meditating.

most importantly do not think about anything at all

that’s not meditation. that’s spacing out. it’s the complete opposite.

meditation is about focusing very hard on one thing. it could be your breath or it could be the sensations in your body. the point is to train your mind to hyperfocus and not observe your thoughts instead of reacting to them. eventually you will learn things about the nature of your mind. it’s basically tripping on LSD but manually.

>ommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
kek

it is difficult. but if you’re continually bored, you’re not doing it right. you’re supposed to OBSERVE the fact that you’re bored, watching your emotion of boredom fade away without being attached to it. boredom means you’re not actually concentrating.

start 15 minutes one day, then 20 minutes, ... it’s not a competition.

The word meditate means to measure.
>What is One measuring?
>Measuring One is What?

Chan/Zazen is a particular style of meditation, sitting before a wall. Lotus/padmasana. Eyes open. Wide awake. Perfect posture enforced.
Eliminating grossness of breath is vispasana.
Right Speech is perhaps the most important thing for doors to be opened. Never lying.

I try to do it as often as possible, for as long as my body lets me.

usually 15 minutes or so per session
don't listen to these plebs that think it's about "thinking about nothing", that's a meme.

U didin't say that when I was at your mom's house

You have two ways to meditate

Towards meaning, you fill yourself into reflection towards god, you seek god and its meaning, for example focusing on Jesus Christ and the Scripture, focusing on the nature of the messiah and the meaning of crucifixion and the message of Christ

Towards nothing, you empty yourself of meaning, you achieve bushido and just "do", you have no discernment of the nature of desire because all desire is evil, obviously there is no discernment between the flesh and the trascendent so all desires from the soul that seek meaning and joy are discarded, it's profoundly nihilistic

There is another form of meditation that is more shamanic and consist of doing mantras, this kind of meditation activates certain energies and can give you tons of synchronizations and delusions, you can also feel tons of different things going through your body, some people do shamanic meditation without realizing it when they try to meditate and sometimes they fall into psych wards from mental breakdowns (search about how many practicioners "awaken the serpent" or the kundalini through meditation practices and how it's different from the second example of meditation i gave)

This is the reason people don't meditate, they don't understand it and they have autists all claiming it means something different.
It's not about thinking of nothing.
It's not about focusing on one thing.
It's about letting your thoughts come and go without engaging or reacting to them.
Your brain can't think of nothing, that's retarded.
You, however, can exert control over the way you consciously react to those thoughts. You'll notice with practice that letting thoughts pass through your mind without engaging them gets easier and easier. Eventually you can find yourself in this state by default and the act of "meditation" will only serve as time you've set apart to experience this state without being confronted by your surroundings and events which force you to consciously engage.

When learning to meditate, focusing on your breath is a good way to "distract" yourself from the thoughts entering your head which you are tempted to engage with, but focusing on your breath is not the goal, eventually you will be able to relinquish conscious engagement with even that thought.

Sit or lay in any comfortable position with low lighting for about 15-20 minutes a day practicing this and you'll be able to induce a high after about a week or 2. That should be enough to make you realize that you're making progress and stick with it.

There ain't no meditation, there are meditations. It's about self discovery, self knowledge, self discipline, self improvement and all that shit that begin with self and/or end with ness.

There are different techniques to achieve different goals (different school, in a martial art way). The most basic stuff is what people do without knowing that's meditation: daydreaming.
Observe thoughts without engaging or reacting, let them be let them pass, just be.

That's it, easy said not easily done. When you feel confident you can read about deeper shit like breath mastery for example (same as previous, "watch" your breath, do not try to control or influence, just let it be).
Seems easy yeah?

Now you can go even deeper, read from the masters, find a teacher, what ever you feel like.
One last thing tho, this is all about thyself, never forget that, other people can show you stuff, they can't do it for you.

Name an animal?

Got one?

Now why did you pick that one? Did you chose to pick that one or did it just appear in your mind? It's no different with other thought or decision

If srs, go read the Silva Mind Control book from the 70’s and start practicing, op. Warning: smoking weed will negate all potential gains.

>It's about letting your thoughts come and go without engaging or reacting to them.
ding ding ding

Wrong, it’s about maximizing awareness and honing, utilizing the power of focused attention.

That's funny because when I did LSD I couldnt focus on shit

What do you think that having the control to consciously choose which thoughts to engage and react to could do for you? Perhaps allow you to focus your attention and awareness better?
Think before you speak.

Those are consequences.
