I enjoyed his course (haven't done forex), but what it lacks is how to analyse a company's financials, it just kinda assumes you know how to do that which makes me think anton was just a market maker, as in investment banks the corporate finance guys are totally separate from the sales and trading teams. Also having read black swan it is now evident to me that big plays are not necessarily predictable and we cannot trust a standard deviation to predict longterm returns. I don't think anton is a scammer just overly flashy and tends to over sell his courses. If you buy the lavish lifestyle marketing you're the sucker, but if you realise that you will most likely not live this lifestyle unless you have a large amount of capital and want to speculate a bit, I think it's a good starting place.

While it may be argued that over analysis is futile due to the unpredictable nature of securities, if you want to understand the strength of a company you need to know how to read balance sheets, cash flow statements and income statements and know about how future cash flows are discounted. Try watching some of Martin Shkreli's investing class videos to get a taste of this, but for real learning you unfortunately need to read about basic accounting and corporate finance.

Of course if you're just trading by yourself you don't 'need' to study a goddamn thing, but if you want to be taken seriously professionally with investments you need to be able to explain why you believe a company or whatever it is you are buying is such a good deal.
