Im 24 years old. I have 10k in savings right now and will be continue to put $700 a week in my savings account. Im an OTR truck driver, I plan on doing this for 5 years max until I have enough money to buy a house in cash. Prior to this i was a shift leader at a fast food restaurant making peanuts. I have no idea how to invest and I dont even know where to start, but i feel like keeping that amount of money in my savings account for the next 5 years is just a waste. What should I do? Where can I learn? Pic unrelated

Just smuggle drugs on your truck.

Buy a GoPro replica or just get a support you can let your Iphone, start to record your driving routine and the roads, etc. Make a youtube channel and post it, as time goes by your channel will grow, maybe it give you a passive income or atleast some people to chat while you drive.
Good luck!

If you want to play it safe, set up an account with Vanguard and buy into an IRA. Just put it all in one of their target retirement year plans. Any extra money, put into a 3 fund mutual fund portfolio and forget about it//

>don't know how to invest
>frequent Jow Forums

wtf is this half-larp shit? just ask for suggestions where to put your money. you won't get any good answers though.

>buyng a penthouse in cash
Exact reason for people losing all the wealth they stumble upon. Invest that shit and use the dividends you fucking dunce.

I've never frequented biz, this is my first time on Jow Forums in a long time desu.

from my understanding if i get into a retirement account wouldnt I have to pay penalties if i pull it out before a certain age?

24 year old fast food shift leader with 5k in savings. I put it all in litecoin at $22 and now nearly have 10k. Get ahead of the game br0ther

Dude FUCK OFF. You’re a fucking monkey nigger. No one wants to hear your worthless ideas. Shut the fuck up

>continue to put $700 a week in my savings account

put it in a vanguard mutual fund

>i'm 26 and have been fucked over by family, my car, and the legal system
>I have 700 in cash in my bank
I hate fucking working for jack shit wages that get sucked up by my car.

get your CDL. If you dont have kids it might be worth it. I drive and sleep in someone else's vehicle, get to experience other places around the country and make 1500 a week before taxes and I only have 6 months of experience. Tuition is 2k down and I have another 5k to my off, but the company I work for is paying my monthly tuition fees. Problem is that this is something I'm only going to invest 5 years of my life into so once I'm done I'll probably be back making to making a shitty wage, unless I figure out a good business plan.

Shut the fuck up namefag niggerspic. You aren't our fucking mascot.

what can I expect if I do this? Is it pretty much a guaranteed profit return? How easy is it to take my money out when I'm ready to buy my house?

>Vanguard

I keep hearing this name. Is it better than other houses. Lower fees? Better managers? What?

I am assuming you don't want to touch crypto, in that case look into Vanguard's index funds. They'll make sure your savings aren't eaten away by inflation and are very low risk overall so you won't just wake up one day realizing your savings are all gone but you also won't get 10x gains in less then a decade even in a perfect market.

these 2 have it right
i recommend you read pic related. it changed my life. it tells you all the things to do before you even start investing in stocks, and then all you need to know about stocks. really non-controversial stuff that any mba would tell you they learned in college.

here's the 6th edition. i know the 7th edition you can also find pirated somewhere on the internet. and the 8th edition you can probably request at your local library, but here is the 6th

I wouldn't mind dabbling a little bit into crypto but I would have to feel really confident about it. Got any links?

I'll check it out. hopefully they sell it at barnes and noble or some big retailer, I dont plan on going back home for another 8 months
