Australia Res Thread

Hey Jow Forums, posted on here a while ago and updated it a couple of times. Not getting the desired job hits. Would like to steer towards more of a white collar industry. How can I make it more employable???

Also post your resume

Surely there are people from Australia here

Most people I know got their white collar jobs, myself included through graduate programs amd worked up the ranks (see: forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum/136). The government programs will accept anyone, including people with meme degrees like yourself.

Not sure how I can help you OP

But what are other anons in their early 20s getting in compensation for their wagecuckery?

I'm getting a raise to 30/hr end of this month, as a full time employee with holiday pay. Thought I was doing alright but then I come on biz where everyones a comp sci genius earning 200k.

ok but how can i improve the resume?

Why is every resume posted here so fucking ugly? Are you retards seriously using Word for something as important as a resume?

24 here, I'm currently (sort of) on 70k + super, but I've been given a promotion to around 80k recently. I'm not sure how much it'll be once it comes through, but I'm quitting and moving to a new job which will likely pay $85-90k.

no one who makes 200k wastes their time here

Include hobbies and interests
>being a faggot

Okay...so how do i improve it

What kind of job do you want

Rewrite your resume, the format is shithouse.
T. Ausfag that was applying for jobs, was not successful until i changed my cv. Found a job within a week

hey bro can you post please

get into white collar or warehousing

White collar is too broad. What would you like to be doing in 10 yrs

Your CV may have too much detail, and education should be above employment history.

I'm an engineering graduate (mechanical), should I accept a drafting job for $50k/yr? It's hardly related to my degree and I would earn more stacking shelves at woolworths. Getting rejected from everything else, I couldn't even find a fucking internship while at uni. I have no chance of landing a nice grad program.

>Download a LaTeX editor
>Find a template that you like
>Modify it to work for you
>Put in your details

Word is for children and retards.

Why do you keep getting rejected?

I haven't got feedback. Likely because of no internship, no extra curricular, shit cwa

what degree?

I cant for a couple hours bruva

Mechatronics engineering.

Can you do it after

im in aus, we dont use latex

i wouldn't mind baking, book keeping, tax, inbound call centre, maybe warehousing ?
I just enrolled in a 16 week tax course

what the hell, thats crazy im sorry to hear brother. btw what do you mean ttoo much detail? ive cut it down so much?

> social science
If anything that signals how retarded and high time preference you are to employers

Aussies unis are criminal

>im in aus, we dont use latex
What the fuck? Yes we do, you idiot.

kek criminal, social science is extremely useful. More than psychology, more than natural science, more than applied science

Ok where in Aus are you from, the city? post yours

Well I'm from regional Vic, but I've worked both here and in Melbourne. It doesn't matter though, because you can actually download LaTeX from the internet - which surprisingly enough is available in pretty much the whole country.

It's not a regional thing, it's a class thing. If you want to get "A white collar job", you'll need to learn to create decent documents at some point or another.

Well believe it or not I had a really nice non-peasant template but thought it was too fancy. So you really think Latex is accept as a non-armature playful layout?

There are some really hideous and gaudy templates, but there are some nice ones too.

I've been using a modified version of this template for the last few applications I've written. There are others that are far less fancy looking and more professional if you want that.

Ive noticed these Latex resumes all revolve around IT, are you sure they are sufficient for a business / white collar type position ??

You realise that you're supposed to change the content for your own situation, right? You don't have to keep the same headings, it's just about fonts and layouts. I'm an engineer and have no problems.

Youre a fucking tard if you legit believe that

Guys a fucking retard

I understand that but what would I replace for software, languages etc for a white collar position? skills is already on there

Do you have any marketable skills whatsoever?

Also, you should still list languages because if you want any decent white collar job you're going to need to learn how to program at some point or another.

When I have used SQL, access, python HTML , learnt those at uni

Is doing this resume stuff even worth it in 2019 Australia?

>t. Tasmanian

I make $3500 after taxes a week blue collar work I know how to code but choose not to

I know! I was earning 1400 after tax as a blaster but its not stable employment

19 year old 30+ an hour.

Lit

its good money, but its not stable

anyone a hiring manager? what do you think???
