Brave the browser is great, and the team is a good team, but the coin holds no value and will never break 20 cents again.

I set up a YouTube account and connected it to Brave Rewards. Threw up one video, 2k views. Checked today and saw I got 51 BAT waiting on me from that channel. Opened my eyes a bit. There's definitely some money to be made. I put in very little effort, brand new channel with one video, made like $7.
I really wish more mid-popularity YouTubers/Twitch streamers would catch onto BAT.
There are some dudes I follow that aren't popular enough to straight up make a living off of YouTube or Twitch, or they're basically just making rent money, and here I am trying to give them free shekels that I receive from Brave, but they don't understand Brave/BAT or haven't heard of it or whatever and aren't interested.
If you have a steady following as a YouTubers/Twitch streamer, and you get like 50% of your followers to use Brave/BAT, you'd make a small fortune, especially if BAT ever moons. It's disappointing to see it not catching on yet, maybe it will when BAT Ads comes out, I don't know.
That's what I'm saying. If I can do that with a new channel and one video, already established streamers could be making bank! You can still support their channel with BAT. Once they sign up and connect to Brave Rewards the BAT will be there for them.

Imagine last month you got 50 of your follows to sign up for Brave. This month each one of them would have received something like ~55 BAT from the UGP. Keep in mind that's free BAT given to users by Brave.
Each one of those viewers tips you 55 BAT, that's 2750 BAT in your pocket. That's currently ~$400 into your pocket, and also keep in mind that UPHOLD waived BAT fees. So that's a pure ~$400 into your pocket for getting 50 of your fans to just go download Brave.
Why the FUCK aren't more content creators taking advantage of this? Are people really this naive about crypto?
When ecelebs fomo into this shit (and they will because grubbing shekels is their way if life), bat will go parabolic.

No matter how popular Brave is, there's no reason for the token price to go up more than a normal currency. Yes there will theoretically be slightly more buy pressure than sell pressure since some people will keep the BAT they earn in their wallet, but that is true of any currency. There's no reason for BAT to go up more than inflation and there's a real chance of the price going to zero if the project fails. Payment tokens are never going to be a good investment.

think about what you just wrote. thats essentially a pyramid scheme

The internet currently runs on digital advertising money. BAT's value is backed by however successful the Brave advertising ecosystem will be.
The UGP was funded by the ICO, that's real money that people put into BAT.
It's literally not a pyramid scheme in any sense of the term.
>Are people really this naive about crypto? Yes. It's a fairly new.concept to most people.
Mason Hill
I don't know if that's true but from a content creators perspective it doesn't matter. It cost them nothing to set up Brave Rewards and link their channel to it. They can then refer their subscribers to Brave and start making BAT. Every streamer should be doing this now. Otherwise they are missing out on a monetization opportunity and as a result, money.

See if i got this shit right: >Users Browse shit, get offered to watch an ad which is worth 1 BAT. Say yes, get 0,7 BAT while the publisher gets 0,3 BAT. This comes from >Advertisers Bought the BAT from Company/BATProject (or however they are called). Basically paid 0,13$ at current value for 1 user to watch their ad if the ad gave 1 BAT in total >Publisher Gets 0,3 BAT presentation tax on what the Advertisers paid to the company. >BATProject/Company Sells BAT to Advertisers.
Can't BATProject just always sell BAT at any $ amount they want?
How do I cash BAT in with BATProject? I know I can obviously sell on any market but they seem to offer rewards if i understand correctly.
Where do you pull you $ numbers, crypto exchange rates or interaction with BATProject?
Thanks.
Daniel Myers
Think you're on the right track, but Advertisers don't directly purchase the BAT.
The transaction would look like: >Advertiser pays $1,000 to Brave to fund advertising campaign >Brave instantly converts that into BAT at [current price of BAT] >this BAT goes to the advertising campaign/ecosystem, where users and publishers will receive it according to their interactions with the advertisements
As for >Can't BATProject just always sell BAT at any $ amount they want?
Advertisers will always pay a certain amount in FIAT for campaigns, NOT crypto. I think Brave mentioned there will be like 3 tiers of ad campaigns to begin with. These are strictly purchased in FIAT and not crypto so there's no risk involved for the advertiser.
>How do I cash BAT in with BATProject?
Right now Brave is using a service called Uphold. So what you would do is 1) get your YouTube channel/Twitch/Website registered with Brave (brave.com/creators/) and then in order to cash out the BAT you get, you'd have to 2) register with Uphold (do their KYC)
I am in no way affiliated with the Brave team but I just love the project, so my info might be off. If you go to the BATProject subreddit you can actually find a lot of useful information there
Publishers will also get tips / contributions. Example: Brave user watches a lot of a certain YouTube channel. A large percentage of the BAT they accumulate through ads or that they buy or earn will go towards the content creators they view the most. Users can also adjust the scale and percentage of their contributions towards creators or opt out completely.
Thomas Walker
Think I got the purchasing part, thank you. How is the price for BAT from FIAT at BATProject decided, [current price of BAT] comes from where?
I think I'm missing the part where miner's solve problems. Is it just the time spend watching advertisements? What are the BAT sources and sinks in this system?
Jose Peterson
sinks=drains* i think you understood me anyway

I like the idea but the first thing i did was look for a firefox addon and crawl back to mozilla after trying this browser.

Bart Baker (Parody artist with 10 million subs) is well aware of BAT's potential. He's shilled Brave for awhile already, but said in Telegram that he is waiting for the time to be right to shill BAT.
Connor Jenkins
They only block 3rd party ads.
Asher Murphy
It is also possible to reward channels and videos on a decentralised youtube, like dtube. BAT has serious, credible, potential to impact on googles monopoly.
Yep, you can also contribute to websites, blogs and shit. It's pretty dope. The only catch being you've got to convince all your followers / subscribers or whatever to use Brave.
