What is great about Canada is whenever you talk to anyone about their job they'll respond with "oh it's GREAT :D", talk to realtors about the housing market and they'll say "RIGHT NOW is a GREAT time to buy :D Prices only go up XDDDD", state propaganda outlets are all blaring "the economy is doing GREAT :-D 0.1% GDP growth :D 1 million new google engineers this year XD". But if you look around you start noticing the retail buildings get dirtier, there's a lot of for lease signs, grocery prices are skyrocketing, electronics don't even depreciate any more and the most telling sign that something fucked is going on is pretty much all grocery stores now have panhandlers (some sort of charities) inside by the exit doors. You can't even get a $40 steak without being hassled for some change on your way out!

Cattle that are "finished" on corn add fat to their muscles. That increases their slaughter weight for low cost.

Cattle that are truly "Grass fed" have a superior nutritional profile. Conventional and grass fed beef has 50/50 and 70/30 protein to fat ratios, respectively, and grass-fed beef has a broader fatty acid profile, including omega-3's.

Grass-finished beef means cows raised on grasses. Without respect to knowing anything about the meat, expect the low-cost corn-fed cows to have lived the last weeks of their lives in a confined feedlot, standing around in their own shit.

The price of a pastured beef is going to have a premium price, but you get a better tasting beef. Once you are at that level though you are buying a case weight of 50 lbs. or more directly from a farmer whose practices you know. Those prices are typically around $7-10 in the US
