If you're an undergrad now, get a technical degree. Compsci, math, stats, econ (if you can get a B.S. in it). I fucked up and got a shit tier job out of school and ended up wanting a lot more. Went back to school to get technical skill and even before graduating I landed myself into a decent job that's helping me build skills for data science. It's never too late to change your course
Also girlfriends are a time and money suck. Get one (or ten) after you make it

Quit thinking Bitcoin is the way out of poverty. Everything on this planet is dictated by the elites in control. If you want to "get rich" it will be a slow steady grind or a lucky shot in the dark. The people I know who got rich off crypto (YouTubers) had $100,000+ in cash just lying around. When they bought BTC was around $1,000. You have to buy things when no one else believes in them.

Don’t beat yourself to death by working. Work in a low-stress job that pays bill and you enjoy with added advantage of being “qualitative” in nature making it somewhat automation-proof. Don’t spend your best years coding for a tech company. You are just a high-value dispensable resource to them. Before you knew it, technology have changed and you have to play a cat-mouse game to stay updated.
I agree, that sounds on the low side
Cant agree with do what you love and money following. Look at all the useless majors out there. Your heart is in the right place, but those words can be damaging. Im one of those kids who followed that advice and just barely dug myself out of future poverty. Im gonna be in the hole another 4yrs but im one of the lucky ones wholl make it out albeit 8 years late.

"Luckily" we're only 2000 at my shop, 1950 of which has to be real chargeable hours. Shit still sucks but is manageable if you never take a vacation.
what is the point of micromanaging hours? as a client i don't care whether it takes you 9 or 999 hours to solve my problem, i just want shit to get done
>as a client i don't care whether it takes you 9 or 999 hours to solve my problem, i just want shit to get done
You care when you're being charged $1,200 an hour. Lawyers bill by the hour, not by the task.
You'll care when the bill comes - lawyers bill by the hour. Sensitivity to that sort of thing obviously depends on the client - Fortune 500 clients don't even look at the bills, so you work as many hours as you need to get the job done perfectly. Some are more cost sensitive and want to pay 50% of the hours for 85% perfection, which is doable.
