I think your statement is a lot more meaningful than you probably intended. That’s a sad state when someone can’t simply find something they’re passionate about and wish they could spend all their time doing that thing, but finding a passion often takes time and self exploration. We don’t give ourselves the chance for self exploration in this system, you go right from being a child to being a systemic slave. That’s why most people never contribute anything meaningful to society. And that’s why most people wind up indulging in forms of escapism such as shit posting instead of using that time to search for a passion. But if you could find something you are truly passionate about and did not have the stress of money to consider, you would likely spend most of your time on that thing instead. We should be educating our youth to explore their possibilities more. Instead we educate to be slaves. We can meet most intrinsic needs with only a small minority of people being passionate about important-to-general-society things, but I think you're not realizing things like video games, hentai, etc. are most often (not always, but most often) escape mechanisms, not passions. They are a symptom of a lack of passion for something that brings true joy and worth to an individual's life.

Are there some people who are truly fulfilled and gratified by playing video games? I imagine there might be. I bet you even most pro gramers have most of their gratification in that they're simply good at something or that they're making good money doing something which delivers dopamine to their brains.

A better argument might be - most people would waste their time and be fucking worthless human scum if they had the freedom to be.
