I think that should be 80 to 90% of the folio in a total stock market tracker and the rest should be speculative. I think people should try and beat the market with a smaller part to keep risk low. Helps understand the market better.

Sometimes I want to sell out of VTSAX and go all in on a good stock I feel strong on and clench my butt.
I question my sanity sometimes. No matter how much I put in, it may never be enough since I know I could have gone all in.

I don't do leverage because of the risk/reward skewing. Liquidation means you expose 100% of your capital and that means you need ridiculous returns to meet that. If you're asking about leverage under 1 million dollars don't bother.

Not true. I only use conventional leverage for indices. 2x. Less conventional is trading things like warrants that swing a lot more than the underlying in the same way options do.

I’ve concluded TVIX and SQQQ largely benefit from similar index swings except TVIX has more of an upside. So maybe get ito a position in TVIX at open and close tomorrow end of day no matter the cost. Depending on market, maybe SPY put but I will wait for midday.
