He is an alcoholic. You can tell when you read his articles and tweets. Its pretty clear he made SV because he saw other people forking chains and making money, and he has an expensive lifestyle to pay for, so the lightbulb went off for him.
He prob was involved in btc in some way in the beginning, but once you hear him speak on technical topics its pretty easy to see that he really doesn't grasp what he's talking about and just uses said technical words to sound intelligent.
Any software dev knows that if you can't explain your concept it at a high level then its DOA. Either way he is not well. And you'll probably see the people close to him, nChain and SV stepping down in the coming months if not sooner. He's really starting to go off the rails, probably because he's such a narcissist be actually believed that people would instantly flock to his chain. And because that's not happening, he's starting to feel the pressure, hence the tweets that you're seeing now. We'll see a full on meltdown before the year is up, I guarantee it.

If you never started drinking you would have never come to this conclusion though. We didn't waste those years, we learned how to not spend the rest of our life. You'll be fine buddy but make sure you figure out what the source of your depression is that made you turn to substances.
And I still do drink and vape, but I had to quit for a while to get myself back in equilibrium and get my emotions sorted out. I still enjoy getting a head change, but now I don't do it everyday, and when I do its not to excess. Abstinence doesn't work in the longrun either. But make sure when you do use again you do it for fun, not as a bandaid.
