anyone flipped original factory sealed games before?
what games are guaranteed to appreciate in value in the next years?

Modern games are worthless now that everything is also available digital

At one point classic games were lucrative (N64 era and earlier) but not as much anymore due to Nintendo starting the "NES classic" and companies like Sony jumping on it. Modern games lose value incredibly quickly, I just bought Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu for half price and it hasn't even been out that long. Collector's editions might retain some value, if they are really limited and hard to find. Typically those are limited to 2 per customer for that reason.

NCAA football

>current year
>not emulating all old games and pirating or buying new games at less than half price

if I were going to invest in video games I'd look at japanese PCBs that haven't already become very expensive

Some mint SNES carts are worth some money, but the market is tiny. It's not the best business to do unless you are completely obsessed with vidya

What about PlayAsia? Every week or two I get an email about some Switch game in a print run of 5,000 or even less. Surely these would appreciate

Nintendo appreciates after 2 gens
Sony/MS 3rd party generally depreciates, save for rare games

What is PS4's Earthbound or Tronne Bonne? Only time will tell

2 different markets those that'd buy old retro games today aren't the ones to plau them they collect them like shiny rocks.

>waiting multiple years to make 100% profit
just flip sneakers or concert tickets instead

That's just not true. Plenty of classic games are available digital, but their physical counter parts sealed go for very high prices on eBay. I've got a pretty large collection of sealed ps2 games that I've accumulated over the years. Plenty of them sell for hundreds of dollars.

Buying games lol

If you're talking about any game from the last 2 gen cycles that isn't Nintendo or an extremely sought after game then flipping vidya is a meme. The most valuable sealed cartridges tend to be hidden gems that don't have much demand until way later (If it wasn't for Super Smash Bros, who knows how valuable Earthbound would be today)

Yep. Or sports tickets. Buy the championship/playoff games, sell them the night it's determined who's playing.

Grow up

return the gamesTyrone

i have a like-new copy of Haunting Ground that i got for around 13 dollars on eBay, easily sells for over 100. feels good man

I guess it depends on the game and how long you've been HODLing.

NES original super mario bros still in sealed package recently sold for some insane number like 300k or some shit

This. Discontinued sports franchises will go up in value a bit, but only worth for the novelty tbqh. Collectors editions of RPG games are the way to go for real bucks.

I would suggest any systems games hurt by gamestop. They turned to taking the cartridge out and placing them in blister packs and bags to save space. Because of that, a lot of cases and art got thrown away. Even if they aren't sealed, those sets of games will only go up so long as they are complete.

They aren't worth that much. Just check ebay "sold" listings. Yes, there are a lot of listings on ebay with sealed games selling at huge prices, but they never actually sell and have been on there for years.

A popular Snes game in decent condition with manual, box, and cartridge will MAYBE sell for $100 when put through an auction and not listed as buy it now. Adjusting for inflation, that's less than they carts were selling for new in the 90s

It wasnt just any copy, it was a limited version

Resident Evil is back on the map, snap up the PS1 classics and obscure PS2 spin-offs while you can.
