I would acknowledge other people's views as it's a stepping stone to help persuade them to my side. There's no real reward for telling someone they're wrong and shutting them up. Convincing someone they're wrong is a different story, depending on your effectiveness it'll help bring a new ally and there's a way to do it where it benefits both parties but a lot of people don't realize this.
