An Aldi opened up near my house and I went in for the first time yesterday. I was just completely blown away by the prices. And the store was packed. I don’t know why anyone would get groceries anywhere else.

How do I long Aldi and short the various other grocers in the area? Seriously I want to invest in Aldi.

Aldi seems pretty saturated.

When I was a kid in the suburbs Aldi was known as where the "poor kids" families shopped. If we had one around me I'd shop there, but all we have is Trader Joe's. Anyway Aldi is private, you could short Amazon where the cosmopolitans shop.

Those discount stores have massacred all retail in Europe in the last 10 years, but the problem now is that there's no longer any competition on the market so the prices are rising very quickly.

There's always some bad with the good.

I always went to aldi when I was in the us, it was way cheaper than kroger or even walmart, let alone stores like giant eagle, I don't know how they do it, and it's not even like the food is bad there or anything

Aldi is amazing I don't even care if this is a paid shill

Not in lots of burbs in the USA. This is the first one in town and I can already tell the other grocers are in deep shit.

Aldi and Lidl are quite big in the UK, but I wouldn't say they have "massacred" other stores. There are still plenty of things you can't find in them, and a lot of the time they sell off-brand garbage products, so you're better off going to something like Sainsbury's or Asda (known as Walmart in the US).

Sorry, Aldi is a private corporation.
But you can bet on other grocers underperforming. Maybe long sp500 and short grocery chains or brand groceries like Kraft Heinz... But then again this thing already dropped like a rock.

>being a nigger

the food quality is shit

>Comes literally from the same manufacturers
You are the real special one here.

Meh their business model just like Denner is to cut costs on the presentation and shelves and offer straight to the point warehouse like aisles, this existed since over a decade in Europe. Fun imo

As where?

It's all processed shit.

Not my problem, that you only buy shit.

Aside from the fruits and vegetables, it's all they carry retard. The meat is shit too - all factory farmed, nothing local.

Aldi's is trash kys shill

This isnt true in the UK.

Aldi is popular, people look down on Lidl mostly though.

Tesco and other large supermarkets are low priced too. There isnt really any rising prices either, I shop at Tesco all the time and it hasnt changed much in years.

im keking so hard. does this actually work

In Switzerland Aldi often wins product comparisons. For example they have the best quality/price for some items like sunscreen, toothpaste, soap etc.

it could also be that the ECB is printing money for free for the last 10 years.... nahhhh

I honestly hate Aldi's/trader Joe's floor set up

also from switzerland here, you should really try the chocolate cakes they have

they are extremely good, if you guys have it in the US too i would heavily heavily recommend it.. pic related

i never tried the others so can't comment on it but still i would heaviyl recommend (YOU) to try the chocolate one

I did that once at a ShopRite when I was 17 and the security guy pulled us into his room. Don't be a nigger

I threw up in one off the Lidl/Aldi brothers RV when I was 5/6!...I still remember it, I just missed the sink.

youtu.be/E5PT8PuZmqw

Most aldi stores look very good since the last few years.

stop going to the super market for basic food. visit your local market.

d-did the security man made you suck his dick?

I go there for the cheap meats. $2/lb sausage and $5/lb grassfed beef is hard to beat.

Clearly OP has never been to florida.

>paid shill
no one gets paid to shill, they ALL do it for free.

Trader Joe's development plan makes it clear that the smaller floor plan and smaller parking lots give the impression it is always busy.

That's funny I'd go a lot more if not for this. Takes long enough just to wait for Chinese to back out of the only available parking.

Aldi's pretty neat

Attached: 1435453138257.png (1022x762, 561K)

I just eat out. There was a while where I was living off of 1-2 chick fil a sammies a day.

why would I do that when it's cheaper?

Attached: Barbara.jpg (640x524, 70K)

When I do get groceries I get them here. They’re expensive, but I usually just get bogos and produce.

>shop at Aldi
>save 15 dollars on shit that doesn’t taste “the same” for some reason
>still have to go to the regular grocery store to get shit that Aldi doesn’t sell
>spend an extra hour at least
Now i wasted an hour going to 2 stores, the stuff from Aldi I don’t really like. All that to save 20 bucks a week

Fuck that, I get paid 37 an hour, my time is valuable. Get fucked Aldi. I’ll go to target or Publix and get all my shit in one spot and have a plesant shopping experience for an extra 20 bucks

Poor fucks worry to much trying to save nickles.

It's all packaged garbage. The meats all look like shit and aren't that much cheaper than other stores. The fruits and veggies all look like they'll last a day before they start to rot. Plus the place is packed with disgusting dirty people. I'd rather pay an extra $50/month on groceries to shop at the "nice" stores supermarkets.

Based. Idk wtf it is but something is “off”” with their stuff. The meat has different marbleization than target for example and doesn’t cook properly. The veggies also aren’t the same as at a quality place like target or Whole Foods.

The only people who think it’s “good quality” shit are people who don’t have any class and can’t tell the difference between a 5 dollar steak and 12 dollar steak.

>Lidl

youtu.be/Gp09Sdrw2W4

>only makes five figures
>calls other people poor

I make over 6 figures with mandatory overtime in a low cost of living area. I’m far from poor.

t. dad is ceo for company that delivers to both aldi and lidl
t. met karl albrecht 20 years ago, dieter schwarz 8 years ago

imho lidl will beat the fuck out of aldi in the next few years (and ofc the rest). unfortunately for amerifags, the lidl guys running the US business suck ass and have zero understanding of the american market

too bad for you.

No. There is usually someone on the master till watching orders go through. Their main purpose is to clear error codes and help people who cannot understand the system but they're also there to watch out for theft related tricks like user's.

>put your quarter
Kek

i do a weeks shopping for 18gbp.

Aldi was awesome back in 2008 when I lived near one, did they decrease in quality? Don't live near one anymore. Trader Joe's was always the best tho. We have a knock off called Earthfare I think but I never bothered going in.

T. Amerifat.

Aldi is utter trash

t. German

>check my self out
>bag my own groceries with my own bags
>thinking .25 cents will prevent me from leaving the fucking kart in the middle of the parking lot

If I’m doing all the work, shouldn’t the food be free? What’s next, go work at the Aldi factory on weekends and package your own shit?

They have impressive knock-offs
Everything looks like its "brand name" out of focus but its all generic

That's stupid. Just because it's cheap doesn't mean it's bad. Infact they sell a ton of high quality brand stuff under a cheap label. I wish we had Aldi here in Canada.

I'm pretty sure most of it is just other brands re-branded.
Costco does this too and their shit is great.

aldi is a budget lidl my man

aldi has some good deals sometimes to drive in smart people like me

but most of the products is of low quality, most can people can not tell the difference.

i say invest in dollar general and 99 cents only stores

its like buying cheap stuff from china, on ebay, BUT INSTANTLY because you can take it home same day,

you have to frequent alot because they rotate shelfs frequently which draws back customers.

GOOD QUALITY PRODUCTS THAT ARE Just not good enough sellers elsewhere.

Do they know where Aldi, Lidl are from?

Every burger knows Aldi is German, so mentally they are already thinking the food taste good. Anything German in America = good

In reality, it’s all subpar knock off shit, desu targets fresh market line is way better.

I’m not gonna save 1.50 on some cocozero cereal that taste like shit, id rather get cocoa pebbles.

You mean there is usually someone standing around talking to a cashier at a nearby register not paying any attention to the self checkout until her little handheld computer starts beeping to let her know someone fucked up or is buying alcohol and needs an ID check. No one that is manning the self checkout registers are doing anything to make sure you're ringing up the right things. They might catch it if you're bagging things without scanning since it will trigger an error that they have to override, but they won't catch people keying in the wrong codes.

where can i get a shirt like diz?

Aldi's is good for viggies and fruit, the meat is hit or miss. Weekly specials and everyday planogram keeps it simple. I don't buy anything else, maybe bread and cheese 16oz fake Serrano style type.

I live in UK and generally the best quality/cost ratio store is the Tesco and Sainsbury's. Aldi is extremely useful for some things to buy in bulk, but their beef, especially mince, tends to taste like absolute shit. They even sell the same alcohol cheaper, I've noticed that beers that go for 1.50-2 are around 1.20-1.50 there, although they have almost non-existent selection. Ideally I shop at Tesco.

Just wait until it's been open for 3-4 years. You'll understand the first time you open some food and there's bugs crawling around in it.

I am not ashamed to admit that I do most of my grocery shopping at Whole Foods because of all the fit white girls who shop there.

Also I hate being around poor people even though I'm middle class at best.

Attached: 55c0c6dc2acae716008bcd59-750.jpg (634x476, 78K)

Short unilever, p&g and Nestle.

This, it's weird seeing people like it now. It was always the poor people's grocery when I was a kid growing up in the midwest.

It is really kind of like a little slice of Europe in America though, but I don't think most Americans realize how similar it is to European groceries. Customer service is shit to match.

Indeed it's utter shit. It's funny how the lowest standard discounter is taking over the world

1. Stop buying meat you cunt.
2. Their wine is literally the best you can buy in that price range in the country.

stop shitting up my board you vegan faggot

Actually I lie, I do go to Aldi's when I want to get sweets. Their chocolates and snacks and stuff are great also European.

But what really impresses me are their "super premium" ice creams which have the same high cream content like extremely expensive brands like Haagen Dazs or BJs.

Pic related - pint of good ice cream for $2.50. Wtf I love Aldis now.

Go vegan, fren
And read the bible

Its asparagus broth not water and it takes a long time to capture essence of the aparagi. Six bucks is actually a really good deal omg you're not going to make it like ever

Call me a pooskin, but if I'm in the mood to be frugal price-rite is my pick.
Unbeatable prices & selection, but lots of spics & niggers.
I know it's legit because I see orthodox heebs in there too.
Aldi's doesn't have all the things I need or want, also laid out by a psycho... why put beach chairs next to pancake mix by the olives???
Trader Joe's is good for select items, coffee, nuts, dried fruit, frozen fish... but soooooo easy to make extra impulse buys.

checked and rekt. I remember the original

You can chargel items as reg when they are organic and other shit like that. One of trick of many I'm sure

Aldi is popping up everywhere, and lidl has recently entered America, there is on not to far from me, and they operate the way they do in Europe( for the most part). Also Walmart is getting more German products in their stores as well. Is America being krauted? And if so, why you doing it germans?

Attached: 4376B829-2FF4-4FF2-983A-D268B88D9D3C.png (1319x724, 1.38M)

Floridanon here. I love me some publix but also Aldi's is good shit when you're trying to stock up on basics at a more reasonable price point than publix. Can't get out of the place for less than like 100$

Chicken tender sub. 108.99. I used to work at Publix when I was a teenager. Place really is great.

I will literally buy 10 of those shirts and wear them daily if we make it cuz of link

>but they won't catch people keying in the wrong codes.
Except for the security cam right above the self checkout and the dude responsible for shoplifting is looking at you

>I do most of my grocery shopping at Whole Foods
Literally why? I have Wegmans, whole foods and shoprite nearby. I go to all stores because each has shit that's cheaper than all the rest and I make a Sunday afternoon out of it

Wow, it IS Walmart.

Attached: asda-stores-ltd-is-an-american-owned-british-founded-supermarket-retailer-F3AD52.jpg (1300x1065, 265K)

what'st the appeal?

as a non-floridian who actually just came back from a conference down there, whats the difference between the two? publix is basically a cut above in quality but also price?

>save money live better
That's from walmart around here in the US.
So aldi is just islamic walmart?

Maybe so people can shop at walmart while not having to say they're shopping at walmart because they're shopping at the european aldi store.
It sounds better to retards I guess.

A live in Texas where Aldi is becoming more common.

I love how cheap everything is, but a don't shop there very often because there's almost always one thing on my list that they don't have which pisses me off.

You must be a burger. Their meat is great here. All local

Aldi is like lime scooters. Fun for the first few times till you realise you're getting ripped off.

Also going in there and seeing all the borderline trademark infringement store brands makes it feel like you've dropped into some alternate timeline.

I noticed an Aldi near my work and so far it doesn't seem popular compared to say HEB. I am curious what the fuss is about and I'll see what they have to offer. I don't think they will roll over American markets since they are pretty vertically integrated with supply chains that are cheaper than Europe.

This

Trader Joe's is owned by Lidl group faggotz

I'm sure he's paying full attention to each and every on screen button that each and every person presses.
My post has just proven to me that no one here has any balls.

You know why! Just let it happen this time

Attached: 1551599871735.webm (660x376, 2.96M)

Lidl runs Europe with better quality AND lower price. Aldi will btfo muttmmarkets effortlessly.
Where do I invest in all this?

I'm gonna need sauce, my man
